Helen Flanagan's OCD horror after club toilet sex 'hallucination' sparked cheating fears

Helen Flanagan said her mental health once reached a point where she convinced herself she cheated on ex-partner Scott Sinclair.

The Coronation Street actress, 34, was with football star Scott for 13 years before their split in 2022. They share three children - Matilda, nine, Delilah, six, and Charlie, three. She moved on with Robbie Talbot after keeping him secret for several months before it was all revealed on Celebs Go Dating.

Meanwhile, Scott has since moved on with model Louise Tarver – and Helen previously revealed she found out about it after finding photos of her on her iPad, admitting to screaming at him: “I f***ing hate you!” on a public train. In a new interview, Helen opened up about her mental health and how it affected her relationship.

At one point, her OCD - or obsessive-compulsive disorder, a mental health condition where a person has obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviours - got so bad that she believed she cheated on ex-fiancé Scott with a stranger during her first night out after welcoming daughter Matilda.

Speaking on Daily Mail's The Life of Bryony podcast, she said: "I remember being out, I think I was struggling postnatally, I remember being on a night out, my first night out since having Matilda and I was wearing red lipstick and I saw there was this guy and he had like a red lipstick mark on his face.

"And for some reason my OCD when I got home told me that I slept with him in the toilet and that I cheated on Scott and I didn't even go near the guy I just saw a red lipstick mark on his face." Last month, Helen discussed co-parenting with her ex-fiancé and said it was "a lot".

Speaking to host Lorraine Kelly, Helen admitted: “It’s not easy. I did find it very, very difficult. I think co-parenting, as well, is a journey in itself. I’m not young, but I’m 31 and I’ve got three children. I felt like maybe if I was 10 years older, but at this age you’re still learning about yourself, still finding yourself.

“But I see my relationship with Scott as like a divorce. We had three children, a house, we were engaged. If you’re 10 years older maybe you can deal with it a little better, but it was a lot, yeah.” She also discussed her new relationship with Robbie, with who she started going on dates with in early 2024.
