Next year will be a big season for band reunion fans - as Scissor Sisters will reportedly be announcing they are reforming to hit the road.

Following in the footsteps of Brit-pop band Oasis, the American glam-rock band fronted by Jake Shears and Ana Matronic are said to be going on their first in over a decade. The band, who have enjoyed huge hits with songs such as Filthy/Gorgeous and I Don't Feel Like Dancin', last hit the road in 2012 with their Let's Have A Kiki Tour.

The 2025 tour is being announced 20 years after the group released their self-titled debut album - which topped the charts in the UK. Seemingly teasing the announcement - which is expected to be confirmed this week - the band's logo has reportedly been beamed onto music landmarks including London's O2 and Manchester’s Co-op Live arenas.

The band is also made up of Babydaddy, Del Marquis and Randy Real and was formed in 2000 - four years before their first album was unleashed. While debut single, Laura, was released in 2003 and reached number 12 in the UK charts - and fans could soon hear brand new material from the group.

A source has told The Sun: “There have been talks about a Scissor Sisters reunion for years but it was never the right time. Now schedules are finally in place for shows in 2025." The source added: “The band are on good terms again and it’s all systems go. They will be playing major arenas up and down the UK and the hope is that there is new music further down the line.”

The Mirror have approached their reps for comment. The news comes after frontman Jake, 46, shared his hope of getting the band back together. He told reporters earlier this year: “I would love that. I would love to. It’s really a dream of mine and I hope that I can make it happen someday.”

The Scissor Sisters's reunion tour comes after Liam and Noel Gallagher made dreams come true by announcing they will hit the road in 2025. The brothers famously fell out in 2009 and vowed never to perform together again - leaving fans thrilled when they announced their plan to reunite.

Announcing their tour plans back in August, the band wrote: "This is it, this is happening... Oasis will tour the UK & Ireland in summer 2025!" The boys went on to encourage fans to buy their tickets by highlighting: "Despite media speculation, Oasis will not be playing Glastonbury 2025 or any other festivals next year. The only way to see the band perform will be on their Oasis Live ’25 World Tour."

But fans unleashed fury on the brothers when technical glitches and astronomical prices caused millions to miss out on a chance to buy tickets. Many found themselves being kicked out of virtual queues while trying to buy seats online - and others watched in horror as prices skyrocketed in price while waiting in line due to a controversial 'dynamic pricing' system.
