JAY-Z’s Lawyer Claims He Has No Close 'Association' With Diddy… Here's Proof That Isn't True, Straight From Puff!

Is JAY-Z actually serious?

As we’ve reported, an anonymous woman sued Diddy in October, accusing him of allegedly raping her at an after-party following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards when she was 13 years old. She also claimed another male celebrity raped her, who we now know was allegedly JAY-Z, while a female celebrity watched both assaults.

He denied the accusations this month, pushing for a judge to dismiss the lawsuit as soon as possible — especially in light of the inconsistencies in the victim’s claims. Now, Beyoncé’s husband is trying to claim he and Diddy have never been friends! Just two people who knew each other “professionally,” and that’s it! What! His attorney, Alex Spiro, told reporters on Monday, per a video circulating on social media:

“Mr. Carter has nothing to do with Mr. Combs’ case or Mr. Combs. They knew each other professionally for a number of years. Just like in all professions, people know each other. At music awards, they support each other. They go to the NBA All-Star Game, they support each other. That’s just how professions work.”

The lawyer insisted “there is no closer association between” Diddy and JAY, and any suggestion otherwise is “a matter of fiction.” He continued:

“That’s all that there is. He doesn’t know anything about the charges or allegations against him. He has nothing to do with that case and there’s nothing more to say.”

JAY-Z and his legal team want us to believe the Roc Nation founder was never friends with Diddy all these years… Really? If they aren’t friends, then explain this picture of them together at the 2022 Oscars:

Let’s also talk about the fact that Diddy, on camera, has mentioned how good of friends they are over the years. During the  20th anniversary Bad Boy reunion at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center in 2026, the record producer said his “brother” JAY-Z missed a recital for his daughter Blue Ivy to make an appearance at the show:

“You’ve been there for me through my ups and downs. Whenever I get in trouble, this is the one I call. This is my strategist right here, this my brother, this B.I.G.’s brother, this Brooklyn’s own.”

You don’t fly thousands of miles and skip an event for your own kid normally… for an acquaintance. Not to mention that JAY is supposedly the one Diddy calls whenever he’s in trouble. Yeah, that sounds more like a very close friend than someone JAY only knows “professionally,” as he and Spiro would like us to believe. More evidence of their close relationship? Diddy told James Corden only “one person” could call him by his real name, Sean, besides his mother: JAY-Z.

With all of this in mind, you cannot tell us these two were not friends! That this was just a business relationship! JAY-Z is the only one besides Diddy’s OWN MOM who can call him by his birth name! No one else! That is a big deal! There’s also so much evidence of them hanging out together! So, there is no way they weren’t close at one point! Why lie and downplay the friendship to distance himself from Diddy amid his scandal? Not a smart move, Spiro…
