Luigi Mangione has been charged with the murder of the UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

On Tuesday, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office announced the 26-year-old has been slapped with 11 charges in connection to the death, including one count of first-degree murder in furtherance of terrorism and two counts of second-degree murder, with one listed as killing as an act of terrorism. New York Governor Kathy Hochul is expected to file paperwork requesting Luigi’s extradition from Pennsylvania, where he was arrested at a McDonald’s and is facing several other charges. A source familiar with the situation told NBC News that the suspect plans to waive his right to an extradition hearing, which would allow him to be transported to NY within days.

He is now facing a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole. This all stems from the fatal shooting of the CEO on December 4 outside a Hilton hotel. Amid the investigation, authorities say they have found lots of evidence connecting Luigi to the crime, including a manifesto in which he details his motive. Hear more on the charges (below):
