Keke Palmer revealed the breaking point in her “unhealthy” relationship with ex Darius Jackson.
“Having a baby was a big stressor,” the “Nope” star, 31, told People Wednesday, adding that her fame also took a toll on the former couple.
“Not just with my romantic relationships, but with family and friends, it’s always become a burden,” she explained. “Too many voices get in. It can make everybody else not trust you. It’s hard to explain.”
Issues in Palmer’s “unhappy” romance with Jackson, who also goes by Darius Daulton, were made public in July 2023 when he publicly shamed her for wearing a risqué ensemble to an Usher concert.
“It’s the outfit tho.. you a mom,” the fitness instructor wrote in a since-deleted X post alongside a viral video of the R&B crooner, 46, serenading the “True Jackson, VP” alum with his song “There Goes My Baby” during his Las Vegas residency.
For the outing, Palmer wore a sheer black Givenchy dress over a matching thong bodysuit.
The exes’ relationship continued to make headlines as they fought over custody of their then-infant son, Leodis, and made allegations of domestic violence last fall.
“It got so out of control,” the “Akeelah and the Bee” star reflected in the new People interview.
“The only way I knew how to bring order was through the court,” she added.

After months of back and forth, Palmer and Jackson attended a court-ordered mediation and settled amicably on a joint custody agreement.
“I wish I could say he was terrible the entire time or that I was … but it wasn’t that black-and-white and that was the problem,” she writes in her upcoming book, “Master of Me,” per the magazine.
“I didn’t want my son to think his father is a monster, because I don’t.”
The “Password” host and her ex recently reunited to spend time with their 1-year-old during an outdoor stroll.
Jackson also attended Palmer’s 31st birthday party in August.
“Master of Me: The Secret to Controlling Your Narrative” will be released on Nov. 19.
