Kelsey Parker has offered advice to Liam Payne's heartbroken family.
The late One Direction singer tragically fell to his death aged 31 two weeks ago, falling from the balcony of his third floor hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The star died after suffering multiple traumas leading to an "internal and external haemorrhage". Of Liam's 25 life threatening injuries, he is believed to have suffered a skull fracture. Investigators have indicated they do not suspect any "third-party" involvement but have made it clear the hunt is still on for his dealer amid speculation someone from his hotel was supplying him with narcotics.
Kelsey knows this pain all too well, having lost her husband Tom Parker of The Wanted to brain cancer in 2022. She candidly shared with HELLO! magazine: "Liam's family should just take each day as it comes and do what's best for them as a family. If that is all sitting down together and crying, then you do that. But it is so tough and so hard."
Kelsey also sent a poignant message to Liam's girlfriend Kate Cassidy, encouraging her to make Liam "proud" amidst the heartbreak. She expressed, "When your partner is taken from you, it feels cruel and you feel as though you've been robbed of your future. So all Liam's girlfriend can do now is make him proud. If you told me when we lost Tom that I would be where I am now, I would never have believed it because you think: 'Oh my God, this is the end. How am I going to cope?' But you just have to ride the waves of grief and if it does knock you down, you've got try to get yourself up and build yourself back up again."

She holds out hope that Liam's loved ones, especially his seven year old son Bear (shared with ex-partner Cheryl Tweedy), will find comfort in the lasting memories he created with his contributions to One Direction.
Kelsey, who shares Aurelia, five, and Bodhi, four, with Tom added that while she is unable to speak on behalf of Liam's family – she finds comfort in reflecting on Tom's achievements with The Wanted. She added that her late husband has given her the ability to tell their two children "stories" about his impact.
Over the course of their career, The Wanted were nominated for a string of awards, including Best British Single at the 2010 BRIT Awards for their debut song, All Time Low. They also picked up a string of awards including a People's Choice and Radio 1 Teen Awards.
The Wanted also found themself nominated at the likes of the American Music Awards and MTV VMAs. Tom passed away in March 2022 from brain cancer, after he was diagnosed with an inoperable tumour in October 2020. In 2021, he revealed his tumour was stable and he was able to tour with his bandmates Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness and Nathan Sykes on select nights of their successful reunion tour. However, his condition suddenly deteriorated, and despite chemotherapy and intensive treatments, he died with Kelsey by his side.
