Some might say this 24ft pool is the perfect place for Liam Gallagher to get in shape for the Oasis tour.

Our exclusive snap of the star's back garden shows work is underway at his £4million North London mansion. But, aside from the fact the pool is not finished, there seems to be another problem - his swimming. On Celebrity Gogglebox, Liam confessed to mum Peggy and son Gene: "Me, Noel, and Paul can't swim."

Gene said: "You can swim, just not with your head up. You go underwater." Liam described himself as a "mad salmon" flailing in deeper water. He said: "I can do half a width. I wish I could swim. I struggle when it goes deeper and that. That's when I start flapping around like some mad salmon, like a crazy salmon and I've got to go back. I struggle having a shower."

When Peggy revealed she regularly swims and aces twenty widths, Liam expressed his envy: "Good for you. That's grand. I'm jealous, man." Perfecting the front crawl might not be part of the Wonderwall star's fitness regime for the upcoming Oasis reunion tour, but Liam, 52, has told fans he plans to get in top shape for the gigs. He said: "It's time to get into the zone of zones."

He has relocated to the Cotswolds while the renovation, which was initially opposed by neighbours, takes place, including installation of a luxury patio and premium pizza oven. In the Cotswolds, Liam - engaged to music manager Debbie Gwyther - has embraced a tough exercise programme of strength training, cardio, running and cycling.

He told GQ: "It's not about looking like a gym lad. It's about feeling sharp and strong." A source said: "Liam has returned from a boozy holiday and plans to be in lockdown for the foreseeable to focus on getting fit for the tour. Liam brother Noel "He is planning on being sober. He's used cutting out booze to help him get through shows before."

Last year, Highgate Society voiced its displeasure over the rock icon's building proposal, fearing it could "create a most unfortunate precedent" and voiced concerns about potential "serious effects from any ground water diversion". Despite these objections, Liam still scored a victory as Haringey Council approved his application for the lavish swimming pool installation.

The Live '25 tour kicks off on July 4 in Cardiff, with sold-out shows across the UK. Oasis fans are also buzzing about a potential new album if the tour hits the right notes.
