Lily Allen has hit back at a fan who criticised her for selling feet pics online hinting that she earns next to nothing from her music these days.
The 39-year-old singer was a pop sensation in the mid-noughties with chart-topping singles like Smile and The Fear, and later, her 2013 cover of Keane's song, Somewhere Only We Know.
However, her musical career highs seem to be a distant memory as she now hints at struggling to make any money from her art, instead turning to selling photos of her feet on a content-sharing platform.
One fan attempted to shame her over her transition into titillating content creation, but Lily clapped back, insisting she makes more from photography than her songs.
The disgruntled fan wrote online: "Imagine being one of the biggest pop stars/musicians in Europe and then being reduced to this." But Lily retorted: "Imagine being an artist and having nearly 8 million monthly listeners on Spotify but earning more money from having 1000 people subscribe to pictures of your feet. Don't hate the player, hate the game."
Lily is also known for her famous parents - 24 Hour Party People actor Keith Allen and Shaun of the Dead film producer Alison Owen. The star herself boasts an estimated net worth of £3 million and is married to American Stranger Things actor David Harbour, who's worth an estimated £4.6 million, reports the Mirror.
Lily co-hosts a podcast with her pal Miquita Oliver called Miss Me? where she recently opened up about her reasons for having children. She confessed: "I think I had children for all the wrong reasons really because I was yearning for unconditional love, which I haven't felt in my life since I was a child. And also my career was at such a high speed, you know high pressure and I'm a people pleaser and I felt like very overwhelmed by what was happening."
In a recent mishap, Lily claimed her dog chewed up her family's passports. She said: "She ate all three of our passports and they had our visas in. And I cannot tell you how much money it cost me to get everything replaced, because it was in Covid and so it was just an absolute logistical nightmare."
"And because the father of my children lives in England, I couldn't take them back to see their dad for like four months, five months, because this f***ing dog had eaten the passports."
