Vanderpump Rules was always the gift that kept on giving. For 11 seasons, Lisa Vanderpump did her best to reign in her rowdy SUR’vers, but this sarcastic Brit could only do so much.
Then, the announcement we all knew was coming arrived. In Season 12 of Pump Rules, the OG cast will no longer exist. Instead, they are getting replaced by a new set of youthful fighters. And there is nothing anyone can do about this.
But if you ask Lisa, we all have nothing to fear. This new cast will equally delight their fans, she wholeheartedly suggests.
The new cast of VPR will also deliver the drama, claims Lisa Vanderpump
Will this new cast also deliver via shirtless parking lot fights, witty retorts, burgeoning pop star sessions, and (eventually) personal growth storylines? We hope so. Okay, maybe they can tone down the physical altercations part a bit, but overall, the OG cast brought us so many iconic moments, so this goodbye is bittersweet.
PEOPLE recently caught up with Lisa at the grand opening of her newest restaurant, Pinky’s by Vanderpump. Luckily (for us), Lisa quickly got to the root of our concerns, addressing the newly hired cast of VPR. “I always say [to] expect the unexpected when we talk about Vanderpump Rules, for sure,” Lisa accurately began. She then switched gears, stressing that a shared workspace will aid in the storylines in Season 12.
“When you put a group of young people together, and there’s this nucleus — the restaurant — [where they] have to work together. It’s always fractious, it’s always complicated,” Lisa explained. Her statement takes us mentally back to the earlier seasons of VPR, where the entire cast worked and played together at SUR.
These days are long gone with the OG cast. They grew up and quit this industry years ago. Therefore, Lisa is eager to return this series to its original form. “I think we’re going back to the grassroots, and a different set of people is kind of new and refreshing,” she said.
Lisa is correct. A return to form would be refreshing. But this does not mean that we will miss the OG any less. Hopefully, this new crew will drop into Something About Her for filming and give us the best of both worlds because we deserve nice things.
Vanderpump Rules is streaming on Peacock.
