Just a month after going public with their unexpected romance, Lana Del Rey and her alligator tour guide boyfriend, Jeremy Dufrene, then shocked fans once again when drone shots surfaced of their bayou wedding.

The world had many questions, but Del Rey, whose real name is Elizabeth Grant, has remained mostly tight-lipped about it all while enjoying the honeymoon period.

But in a new interview with Vogue Italia for the publication’s November cover story, the singer, 39, has opened up about her special relationship and why Dufrene is different from her past suitors.

“Most of the people I met wanted Hollywood to be the third part in our relationship,” she told the outlet, likely referencing his down-to-earth lifestyle. She also suggested plans to start a family with the Lousiana native.

“When I get married, it’ll be to someone who, like me, believes that love is enough. I’ll be enough for him, and he’ll be enough for me. Someone to have children with if that happens, or just friends.”

“I want it to be simple. I need to be with someone who wants to plan to stay home with me,” she continued. “Love is to be saved, and that’s magic…I want my whole life, and everything I sing, to be the positive result of something. I believe in magic because, to me, it means being optimistic, having hope, and being able to share it.”

Before the interview, Del Rey had only mentioned her new husband in a quick Instagram moment.

“Jeremy is the one and only. And amazing.,” she wrote in a comment. “We’re very happy.”

Del Rey and Dufrene, who shares three children with his ex wife, married in an intimate ceremony by the water in Des Allemandes, Louisiana this September—a location scouted for its sentimental value.

“[It’s] is where they first met. It’s a special place for them,” a source told People of the wedding. “It was a beautiful, relaxed and family-focused wedding. The focus was just on their love story.”

The bride’s wedding dress—a white lace gown with a ruffled bodice—was thrifted from a vintage market called Trashy Diva in New Orleans and is believed to have cost only a few hundred dollars. She wore a large pastel ribbon in her hair as her ‘something blue’.
