NBA star Anthony Edwards rushed back to court in his legal battle against Lil Baby‘s ex Ayesha Howard over her newborn daughter, In Touch can exclusively report.
According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Anthony, 23, filed a new motion in the paternity lawsuit he brought in September.
In the motion, Anthony asked the court to order Ayesha and the child to submit to DNA testing by a neutral and licensed laboratory.
Anthony’s lawyer filed the motion on October 15, which appears to be the day after Ayesha’s daughter was born. The NBA star’s legal team noted Ayesha had yet to be served with the paperwork.
On Tuesday, October 22, Ayesha posted a series of photos showing off her baby bump and the ultrasound photo. She wrote, “Golden girls,” and ended her caption with “10/14,” which many believe to be the child’s date of birth.
Ayesha’s friends commented, “Ayesha!!!!!!! U did that honey!!!!” Another wrote, “Dear precious babygirl…we’ve been speaking you into existence for years.”
The influencer also shared a photo of the newborn with her face covered with a heart emoji. She wrote, “Momma doll baby.”
Last month, Anthony filed a petition for paternity and child support. He said both parties were residents of Georgia. He said there was only one child at issue and it was out of wedlock.
Initially, Anthony’s lawyers asked for genetic testing to be done. “[Anthony] is entitled to an order requiring the parties to undergo genetic testing. If genetic testing shows that the [Anthony] is the father, [Anthony] requests an order establishing the minor child’s paternity,” his petition read.
His lawyer continued, “[Anthony] knows of no other person or entity, not a party to this case, with physical custody of the minor child or claims to have custody or visitation rights concerning the minor child. Further, [Anthony] has never participated as a party or witness or in any other capacity in any other litigation concerning the custody of or visitation with the minor child in this or any other state.”
Anthony’s lawsuit asked that genetic testing be done and that he be legally declared as the father if the test came back that he was the dad.
He also asked that the court set child support based on the state guidelines. A hearing has been set for November 13.
In 2023, Anthony signed a five-year maximum contact extension that could result in him making $260 million, according to ESPN.
Ayesha has yet to comment on Anthony’s lawsuit demanding a DNA test.
Per Page Six, Anthony has a girlfriend named Shannon Jackson. Anthony and Shannon share two children. Shannon gave birth to their daughter in March. For her part, Ayesha has a son named Jason with rapper Lil Baby, 29.
Anthony was a part of the 2024 Olympic Team with LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry and several others. The team ended up winning a gold medal.
Back in 2020, Ayesha filed a paternity and child support case against Lil Baby.
In court documents, she claimed Lil Baby was worth more than $4 million at the time. She pointed out that he owned a massive luxury car collection that included two Lamborghinis worth millions.
A legitimation order was entered in 2021. The case was closed in 2022.
