Olivia Rodrigo has revealed the peculiar question she always asks men during first dates, and her response left the internet reeling.
In an interview with Netflix, the pop star, 21, was apparently asked about the “red flags” she avoids in men, prompting her to explain how she weeds out the guys she’s not interested in dating.
“The biggest red flag, OK, this is a very oddly specific question that I ask guys on first dates,” Rodrigo said in the clip posted Friday. “I always ask them if they would want to go to space.”
The “Drivers License” singer added with a smile, “And if they say yes, I don’t date them.”
But according to Rodrigo, she has a good reason for sidestepping the guys who deliver an undesirable answer to her question.
“I just think if you want to go to space, you’re a little too full of yourself,” she explained.
Rodrigo’s comments left social media users on X (formerly Twitter) with differing opinions. While some people called her question “so real,” others slammed the songwriter for “judging” others based on their dreams.
Olivia Rodrigo saying that a guy wanting to go to space is a red flag is so real because like if a girl wanted to go to space i’d be like slay girlboss but if a guy wanted to go to space i’d be like why…haven’t you done enough.

— destiny (@dreamydes) November 3, 2024what’s even weirder is judging a person by their dreams like not everything revolves around you😭

— 🃏 (@risurux) November 4, 2024Among the replies, Elon Musk’s ex, Canadian singer Grimes, entered the chat, seemingly taking a dig at the SpaceX mogul by agreeing with Rodrigo’s opinion.
“It’s true,” Grimes wrote on X in response to the singer’s interview. “Only women should be going to space.”
