PADDY McGUINNESS is speeding towards a £10million total for his Radio 2 Ultra Endurance Cycle challenge in aid of Children In Need.

Catching up with me after he completed last week’s feat on a kids’ Chopper, Paddy revealed he was planning a tattoo if he hits the magic total.

“I’m impulsive and it popped into my head,” Paddy said. I thought about having it on my bum. But if I’m ever out and anyone wants to see it, I can’t be pulling my pants down every two minutes.”

Very true!

A documentary, Paddy: The Ride Of My Life, airs tonight on BBC One at 8pm and will reveal the highs and lows of his challenge.

Admitting it was more mentally demanding than physically, he said: “It’s going to take me a long time to get myself back into reality. in my head I thought, ‘If I can get to a million quid, that will be brilliant’, because you never know if people are going to get on board with you. On the roads, I cannot get across how many came out.”

Paddy added with a smile: “I equated it to a really beautiful storm and I was in the eye of it. It’s a lot to process.

“Now, that’s why I’m looking forward to this documentary because it’ll be great.”

Chris is a marvel at musicals

CHRIS EVANS wants to swap action movies for musicals.

The Marvel actor, whose singing voice I’m sadly yet to hear, said: “I’m waiting to do an actual musical film.

“I want to sing and dance. That is what I want. I mean, that’s tough though because it’s something you have got to do right.

“You only get so many bites at that apple. But knowing that, I’m very precious with it and I want to make sure it’s the right thing.

“So yeah, that’s always in the works.

“That’s the quickest way to get me in a room. If you say it’s going to be a musical, I’m listening.”

Liam backs festive favourite

LIAM GALLAGHER and Line of Duty’s Vicky McClure are putting their weight behind Reverend & The Makers’ bid to land the festive No1.

The band have joined with the Samaritans for their tune Late Night Phone Call.

Singer Jon McClure told me: “People being alone and in a bad place at Christmas is something that’s always bothered me.”

Smooth Paul's a top lad

GLADIATOR II has received mixed reviews.

But if you need an excuse to get you to the cinema, Paul Mescal is the perfect one.

I can reveal the Irish hunk, who plays main character Lucius, spends eight-and-a-half glorious minutes of the movie with his top off.

I can’t blame him, given he spent six months in the gym preparing for the role.

But what I couldn’t quite get over is the very small amount of chest hair.

Did they have Veet in Roman times? It certainly seems to have paid off though, because early estimates suggest the movie made £69million internationally in its opening weekend.

That is the biggest launch ever for a film by director Ridley Scott.

Paul said he beefed up for the role by working out with a trainer six days a week and eating four meals a day, “mostly chicken”.

In the end he gained 11 kilos of muscle, which ripples on screen.

I might just have to go for a second viewing.

Wicked praised by Dorothy daughter

JUDY GARLAND’s daughter Lorna Luft has praised Wicked – which is the prequel to her late mum’s most famous movie The Wizard of Oz.

After seeing an early screening of the film, which is out on Friday, she wrote on Instagram: “This movie is astounding! It’s epic, brilliant, touching and honest.

“I told the genius director Jon M Chu he had picked up the torch, the broom and the wand, and carried it forward.”

Adele the Iron Lady

WEIGHTLIFTING fan Adele had to stop pumping iron because it can strain the vocal cords.

But as she prepares to wrap up her Las Vegas residency this weekend, she has visions of becoming a “muscle Mary” during her time away from music.

On stage in Sin City at the weekend, she said: “I love weightlifting but I have to go easy on myself when I’m singing because obviously it really does stress your f****ing neck out and that’s where all my vocal cords are.

“So maybe I’ll get back to heavy weight lifting and come out looking like a muscle Mary next time.”

Given Adele has teased a long break from music, I can only imagine how buff she could be by the time she returns

Kicking it off
