GB News hosts discuss Prince Harry's visit to South Africa

Prince Harry may regret publishing his best-selling book as it shared several private conversations with his brother, Prince William, and his father, King Charles, that royal experts claim have left him with no chance of rekindling those critical relationships.

In a recent documentary aired on Channel 5 titled Harry and Meghan: Going Their Separate Ways, one royal critic shared: "I think he might regret writing Spare in the way he did it because, of course, it wasn't just what he had written in Spare; it was the publicity tour he did around it."

“it was Spare that was Harry’s nail in the coffin with his family," she finished.

Mark Borkowski, PR expert added: "When you are paid a lot of money, they expect the kitchen sink thrown in, they want to sell books, and it did sell.

"But the amount of bitterness and ingrained hurt was very damaging to the royal family, the oversharing clearly defined where Harry was going, and it wasn't good. No one has to empty out every last painful moment of his life and not expect to hurt other people as well."

It has been revealed that Prince Harry reportedly made up to £22 million ($27 million) upon releasing his memoir Spare last year.

As reported by the Mail, bestselling author Richard Osman claimed Harry's likely payout despite Spare only previously being available in hardback.

The Duke of Sussex's controversial memoir became the UK's fastest-selling non-fiction book after Penguin Random House released it in January 2023.

The publication reported that Harry was understood to have clinched a £16 million ($20 million) advance as part of a £32 million ($40 million) four-book deal in 2021 following a bidding war.

Richard said in his podcast The Rest is Entertainment: "The book that [Prince] Harry wrote, it's impossible to overestimate how much money that has made. It's been one of the most successful books—the fastest-selling non-fiction book ever.

"I think his book has not come out in paperback yet. So this book is purely hardback. I reckon he's made $26, $27million.

"So he's earned an advance of $ 20 million on the hardback of his first book alone. Forget rights to other things and audiobooks, and what have you? He has earned that out already. When the paperback comes out, it's just money rolling into the Sussexes."

One of the biggest bombshells in Spare is when Prince Harry accuses Prince William of hurting him. According to the duke, the brothers were at Kensington Palace in 2019 when the incident took place after a row about Harry’s wife Meghan.

Harry claimed his brother called Meghan "rude", "difficult", and "abrasive", which he told William was a "parrot[ing of] the press narrative".

The duke then Claimed William used physical force against him by grabbing him by the collar, “ripping” his necklace and knocking him to the floor.

He also claimed that the altercation left him with a cut on his back due to him falling onto a dog's bowl and breaking it, something Meghan Markle spotted later that evening.

Prince William has never commented publicly on the explosive allegations.

Another shocking revelation in Spare was Harry’s claim that he and William tried to persuade their dad not to marry Camilla, the now Queen.

Prince Harry wrote in the memoir: "Willy and I promised Pa that we'd welcome Camilla into the family. The only thing we asked in return was if he would not marry her. You don't need to remarry, we pleaded. A wedding would cause controversy. It would incite the press. It would make the whole country, the whole world, talk about Mummy, compare Mummy and Camilla, and nobody wanted that. Least of all Camilla.”
