Sound the cors anglais (English horns, according to Google), as a brand new Real Housewives series is coming our way at some point next year! Through a partnership with Hayu, Bravo is readying us for a trip across the pond, where the fashions, flats, and fish and chips will undoubtedly combine, keeping me in a chokehold for the duration of its inaugural season. Here, the currently undecided cast of Real Housewives of London will do their best to win over our hearts while supplying us with (hopefully) the right amount of drama that will not leave us crying foul. But getting this mix right requires a delicate balance within the casting room. Women from all backgrounds should be selected to help keep things spicy. So, just in case Bravo starts feeling stuck on who to hire, we made a list of five faces that might serve this series well.
Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu is a reality television vet that would bring the drama and the laughs to RHOL
Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu is a British-Turkish television personality, actress, and model. She is also single and unafraid to speak candidly. AKA, Ekin-Su could be gold in this new series.
On Watch What Happens Live, Ekin-Su joked about her least favorite aspect of filming on her first reality television series, Love Island. The cameras were everywhere. Therefore, she held in her number twos for weeks, yes, WEEKS. It is uncouth to film yourself straining while sitting atop a porcelain throne, so Ekin-Su kept it all inside, literally.
Following Love Island, Ekin-Su went on to film several British reality series, such as Dancing on Ice, The Wheel, and Celebrity Big Brother. On the latter, she did not excel. It happens.
While starring in The Traitors Season 2, however, Ekin-Su fell victim to a slow death. Her housemate murdered her in plain sight, simply by sharing a goblet of (fakely) poisoned wine.
Ekin-Su has endured the gauntlet of reality television narratives. She has been loved, side-eyed, and taken down. And yet, she keeps popping up on shows like an unphased professional. With her grit, stunningly hot looks, and experience, Ekin-Su would excel as a full-timer on this new series, the Real Housewives of London.
Munroe Bergdorf is an activist who would bring a needed voice for many on RHOL
Munroe Bergdorf is an English model and activist. In her childhood, Munroe excelled in swimming. Yet she never felt like she fit in on her all-boys team. In an interview with The Guardian, Munroe explains that her male teammates hated her, and her teachers were not any better, as they often referred to her as a Nancy boy, which makes my skin crawl.
Munroe has since transitioned into the woman she always knew she was. She is now a renowned model, writer, and activist. She was also the first trans person to appear on the cover of Cosmopolitan UK and the first transgender hire for L’Oréal.
Munroe also speaks her truths as needed, which a Real Housewives star should be able to do. But in 2017, her voice got her axed as the face of a L’Oréal U.K. campaign. Her firing arose after she published a Facebook post denouncing racism, pointing out how all white humans need to work on their microaggressions. As a white human, I find her take correct.
Facebook deleted her post, citing that she breached its terms on hate speech. The racist, transphobic comments from the public, aimed at Munroe, however, were left up. Uncool, Facebook.
Munroe has been there, done that, and schooled everyone along the way. She feels strongly about her convictions as a Black trans woman trying to make it in society. Her truths and advocacy work could see many needed conversations transpiring on RHOL, and for that, I say, bring on Munroe.
Trinny Woodall has a wardrobe that might make us green with envy on RHOL
Trinny Woodall is a British entrepreneur and businesswoman. She is also the founder and CEO of a direct-to-consumer beauty brand, Trinny London. Her company launched in 2017. To date, Trinny employs over 220 people, making her a boss bitch that needs to get on her screens (again) now.
Trinny can handle the bright lights of filming. In 2001, she became a household name via a BBC television series called What Not to Wear. This series was a hit. Her success launched her into other projects, such as advising on all things fashion via The Oprah Winfrey Show and The Today Show.
Trinny is also wickedly funny and upbeat, which would serve the Real Housewives franchise well. With her fashion insights and quick wit, she could be the next Housewives star to complain about ugly leather pants and outdated Herman Munster shoes. Trinny is a queen in search of her next throne. And this seat, I feel, exists within the (proverbial) castle walls of Real Housewives of London.
Poppy Delevingne’s voice, style, and mannerisms would soothe us into submission, likely making her a cast favorite on RHOL
Poppy Delevingne slays as an English socialite, actress and model. She also has a velvety voice that I could listen to for hours without ceasing. But seriously, Poppy, please come to Florida and read to me. Or leave me a voice note that I can continuously replay, stressing that everything will work out in the end, okay?
When not dodging my pleas, Poppy is living her best life with her famous inner circle while acting in everything from films to television series. This range might help her during any messy Real Housewives scenarios that might arise (if needed). Likewise, her sister and close confidant is Cara Delevingne, who has starred in more ad campaigns and films than I care to count (sorry, I identify as lazy). I would love to see sisters who got along starring on RHOL, so can we make this happen, Bravo?
Additionally, I love lurking inside wealthy circles. I have affluent relatives, yet I am just a peasant, unlike Poppy. Instead, Poppy grew up in a mansion in Belgravia, and she now resides in a luxurious house in West London, which she has decorated to the nines. The cameras would love her home, as would I, were she cast in the Real Housewives of London series.
After all, I am just a girl, sitting behind my laptop, asking for a rich, well-mannered, velvety-voiced Poppy to get on my screens, stat.
Caroline Stanbury is already known in this franchise, so she would be a solid friend on the RHOL cast
I know, I know. Caroline Stanbury is already starring on Real Housewives of Dubai. But before she moved to the desert, she was living in London. Before that, she lived in a castle-like setting in the English countryside because her family was (and still is) rich AF.
As heard on RHODubai, her childhood estate in the Cotswolds is priceless. IYKYK.
Before sharing about her boarding school problems and childhood traumas in Dubai, Caroline was an original cast member of the now-defunct series Ladies of London. Here, we learned about Caroline’s quick wit and crazy, dry humor, which helped to make her a star. Her hysterical sensibilities also made her an obvious casting contender for RHODubai. Once she relocated there, that is.
The Real Housewives of London series needs to start with a bang. A familiar friend-of-face might come in clutch for this very purpose. We already know Caroline, and Caroline already knows London. She still visits her former stomping grounds as she can, so why not have her pop over for a spot of tea and trash-talking while she’s at it?
As a known face, her presence would boost the viewership. Once the audience fell into like with this new group of women, Caroline could fly in her private jet back to Dubai and into the eager, baby-loving arms of her very lovable, codependent man, Sergio Carrallo.
Caroline would make an excellent supporting character on Real Housewives of London (were she cast as such).
