Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9, Episode 6 Recap: Shady Waters

Welcome to the recap for Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9, Episode 6. Last week, Wendy had the birthday brunch from hell. Keiarna and Mia went toe to toe on who needed a flute. And Karen set out to destroy her new “enemy,” Jacqueline. We ended on a cliffhanger yet again with Stacey spilling the tea to Karen; there was talk she needed to go to rehab. The trip to Lake Norman was just getting started … Here’s exactly what went down in RHOP Season 9, Episode 6: “Shady Waters.”

What happened in Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9, Episode 6?

The cast trip to Lake Norman concluded with more drama along the way. Karen denied needing rehab but shocked the group when she said Mia had gone herself. Gizelle came back and did some investigative work on Stacey’s man, TJ. However, Stacey thought the attention should be on Jassi’s man, not hers. Mia and Keiarna made up and then fought again, becoming solid frenemies. And Jacqueline pretty much insulted everyone she talked to. Meanwhile, Wendy enjoyed it all, safely inside her birthday bubble.

They wanted Karen to go to rehab, but she won’t go, go, go

Karen was with her crew of Stacey, Jassi, and Keiarna when Stacey brought up rehab. She told Karen that Mia and Jacqueline thought she needed to go. Karen said thanks, but no thanks. If she needed help, she would ask. She then flung an arrow back at Mia and said she had gone to rehab for opioid addiction. Karen said in her confessional, “Mia wants to elevate herself. She’ll step on Jesus to stand up. I take this personally. Payback is a motherf*cker.” We need Karen as an action movie villain, stat.

Things cooled off at the pool. Stacey brought up her divorce, and Karen advised she talk with Ashley. Ashley was excited her mediation with Michael was almost here. This meant she was one step closer to getting divorced. The topic of when you introduce your kids to your dates came up. And everyone agreed to disagree on what they thought was best.

Wendy then received some birthday flowers, and the girls celebrated by dancing around the pool. While Stacey unintentionally did the robot, Mia twerked on top of Keiarna. This led to the two hugging and exchanging “f*ck you’s” to each other. And just like that, a new frenemy relationship was born.

The Shade Queen arrived back at Mia’s Manor. Jassi spilled the tea to Gizelle on what she had missed. In her confessional, Gizelle said, “Clearly, all hell broke loose. Everybody should be exhausted from the shade and the screaming of it all. Like, let’s just have a nice day. Can we do that?”

Mia then poured shots into everyone’s mouths to celebrate Wendy’s birthday. Stacey didn’t understand the assignment, but she got an A+ when it was her turn. Mia then schooled them all and stuck the bottle down her throat. She said, “Ladies, that’s how you keep two men.”

Stacey got put into the hot seat on the bus ride over to The Joint. She was next to Gizelle and Wendy, and they just could not understand her relationship with TJ. Gizelle did some quick research on him and pulled up his IMDb page. She got right to the point and asked whose decision it was to be celibate until marriage.

Stacey said it was the royal “we,” but then admitted it was TJ. Gizelle was dumbfounded; wouldn’t she want to test drive the merchandise before buying? Wendy said in her confessional, “I’m just getting to know Stacey. And I don’t want to doubt her. But it’s odd. It’s a little bit odd.”

A surprising game of FMK lightened the mood

After an awkward tour of Mia’s first location of The Joint, the group headed out to lunch. Wendy correctly stated, “This … is not birthday worthy.” But things turned around when the group ordered caviar service and the presidential tower. Now that’s birthday worthy.

Gizelle got to work stirring the pot and asked Keiarna if she was ok. This escalated into Keiarna arguing with Mia about drug dealers and strippers. Gizelle had enough and gave Jassi the floor. Jassi shared she was having a party and would make sure lots of single men were there for the group. Jacqueline said she had been working on her fitness and was ready. She added that working out “just makes me feel strong and like don’t f*ck with me.” Gizelle threw it to Karen. Karen whipped out her Wonder Woman cuffs and continued to dodge the darts with ease.

On the car ride over to Wendy’s birthday dinner, they decided to play f*ck, marry, kill. Finally, we had a scene where the girls were genuinely laughing and having fun. Everyone lost their mind when Wendy said she would sleep with Gizelle.

In her confessional, Wendy said, “We’ve been at odds for so long, and there’s nothing better than make-up sex.” Karen said she would sleep with Mia, marry Jassi and Keiarna, and “I would kill your ass, Jacqueline.” The crowd went wild. Then Jacqueline said she would “definitely f*ck Ashley, because I already f*cked Mia.” Even with that unsurprising news, the group was cracking up. But the jovial mood wouldn’t last long for everyone.

Wendy’s birthday evening concluded at a rooftop restaurant with stunning views. She was touched to have such a special day among friends. Everyone then went around the table and said something nice about her. Gizelle said, “I love where we are. It’s been stale for some time, and it’s now rich. And I am here for all of it.” After a lot of nice sentiments, Jacqueline basically thanked Wendy for not being as bitchy towards her. Alrighty, then.

Ashley cheered to Stacey for opening up on the trip. Stacey saw this as her moment to stir the pot. She said, “I feel like there’s been a lot of focus on me, and we haven’t talked about Jassi’s man. Is this your future husband? Who is he?” Mia cheered to Stacey, “Bitch, you loosened up.”

Jassi tried to explain their relationship timeline and when his two children were born. But the math wasn’t mathing. In her confessional, Mia said, “She’s told me this story eight times, eight different ways.” Ashley added “two plus two is not equaling four.” The next morning, the hungover crew said their goodbyes. And it was back to Potomac we go.
