RHOC’s Gina Kirschenheiter and Travis Mullen ‘Settled Into a Really Good Space’ While Living Apart

1 week ago 2

Season 18 of The Real Housewives of Orange County featured Gina Kirschenheiter in the middle of the drama. She fought with Jennifer Pedranti about her eviction after Gina, as a real estate agent, vouched for her. Then newbie Katie Ginella stirred up problems with Heather Dubrow, damaging Gina’s friendship with Fancy Pants. Plus, Gina asked her boyfriend, Travis Mullen, and his three children, to move out. And Travis wasn’t happy about Gina’s decision.

However, she wasn’t asking him to hit the road. Gina wanted them to continue their relationship, just live in different homes. And she had a valid reason for wanting Travis, her boyfriend of five years, to vacate.

Gina Kirschenheiter says that asking Travis Mullen to move out “was the right decision”

At first, when Gina asked Travis to move out, RHOC fans suspected that this spelled the demise of their relationship. However, this all stemmed from Travis’ ex-wife, Meghan Mullen. Last year, Travis filed for a temporary restraining order against Meghan, which he later dropped.

“There were things that were happening that literally made me feel unsafe and that were affecting my kids. Look, Travis is a victim of this too,” Gina previously explained. “But that doesn’t mean that I want to continue to be in that environment.” In addition, Gina’s three kids go to school with Travis’ children. Wow. That is a tough situation to navigate.

So, how are Gina and Travis doing now? “Things are actually going really great. I’m very happy to report that,” Gina told The Daily Dish. “I feel like we’ve settled into a really good space where we’ve both kind of accepted the circumstance that we’re dealing with, and we’ve adjusted to the transition of the two homes.”

However, that doesn’t mean that Gina doesn’t find their arrangement “super annoying” at times. The couple “live literally down the road from each other,” Gina said. “So it’s constantly like ‘I forgot this’, ‘I need that’, back and forth, shuffle shuffle. But it still feels better to me. It feels like it was the right decision,” the real estate agent added.

Right now, Gina has no plans to move back in with Travis. “I think it’s working for us both. Everybody keeps saying that, ‘What’s your goal?’ or ‘Where do you see this going in the end?’” Gina remarked. “And it’s honestly like I just don’t have those answers. I am just focusing on what is happening right now, which is we’re doing well, we’re both content, our children are all OK and happy, and that’s what I choose to focus on,” she added.

As long as Gina and Travis are happy, that’s all that matters, right?

The Real Housewives of Orange County continues on Thursdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
