Ubah Calls Jessel a Basic B**ch, Jessel Struggles With Pavit Over Baby No.3, and Raquel Reveals Why She Kept Her Engagement Quiet, Plus Erin Throws Mezcal Launch Party as Brynn Calls Out Past Relationship With Biz Partner

On this episode of The Real Housewives of New York City, Erin throws a mezcal party and we learn more about Racquel‘s past.  Jessel tries to connect with Pavit about baby number 3, but the communication is lacking. Kind of like how the communication is lacking between Brynn, Ubah, and Sai … Can Erin’s Cinco de Mayo bash bring the group back together?

Erin and Abe prep for their upcoming mezcal party.  About 12 years ago, they went to Tulum, Mexico and were introduced to the magic of mezcal.  Obviously they decided the next move was to launch their own mezcal line and since then, they’ve been doing great.  To celebrate, they are throwing a Cinco de Mayo party, a total American holiday, but a party, nonetheless.

Speaking of parties, things are great with Erin and Jenna since they got into it at Jessel’s Clueless party.  Erin is happy that Abe reached out to Jenna about their issues and feels like that put the couple in a better space.

Jessel and her mother, aka Mary Poppins, are out for a manicure.  Jessel is thrilled that her mom is back in the states. They get to talking about the frozen embryos in Beverly Hills, which is huge considering Jessel only told her mom about her IVF journey last year. Now that her mom knows, Jessel feels liberated, but talking about adding a girl to the posse sounds stressful, especially since Pavit is NOT on board.  Jessel thinks it would be best to get a therapist involved to help the couple communicate and she plans to drop this on him during an upcoming date night.

Racquel, Ubah, and Sai get together. Sai gifts Ubah a book titled, Pigeon Watching, which gets a good laugh out of everyone.  They discuss a recent headline stating that Jenna is ready to marry her fiancé, Cass, but it’s questioned, since Jenna has always been hush-hush about her relationship with Cass.

Racquel understands why Jenna may be taking things slow.  She shares that she broke up with her ex in 2020, but it was kept on the DL because their businesses were so entwined.  Once they broke up, they kept it quiet because they were perceived as a couple for art purposes and they were not ready for the financial consequences of the world hearing they split. When Racquel got together with Mel, Mel was seen as a homewrecker and the people in the art world chose to side with Racquel’s ex.  Despite it all, Racquel is ready to move on with her life.

Brynn phones her brother and discusses her new app Rizz.  As the co-founder, Brynn explains this app deals with dating and flirting, which just so happens to be Brynn’s specialties. This app could “revolutionize the dating world!” But in other news, Brynn shares that things got worse with the ladies once her brother left. Ubah called Brynn a snake and Sai is mad at Brynn, too.  Because of this, Brynn she feels awkward being around the group, but her brother warns her to be the bigger person.

Pavit and Jessel head out for date night.  Everything that Jessel suggests, Pavit poo-poos, which is foreshadowing to how this conversation is going to go. Jessel reminds Pavit that he owes her a few thousand gifts and then she brings up the IVF topic.  She sarcastically thanks Pavit for asking how the meeting with her IVF coach went (“thanks for asking”). Pavit is adamant that he does not want a third baby, as he compliments the noodles for the meal. Jessel tries to talk to him about seeing a therapist to help them figure out how to communicate, which is ironic in this moment. Although Jessel tries to make a good case for therapy, the cost of it is off-putting to Pavit…

Racquel and her fiancé, Mel, head to an art gallery, something they have not been able to do in a long time.  When they first got together, people acted disrespectfully towards Mel, which put a lot of stress on their relationship from the jump. The couple is finally ready to announce their engagement now that things have smoothed out for them; however, Racquel is unsure where her mother stands on all of this.  Her mom has not visited her for 10 years since Racquel started to date a woman.  Racquel wonders if her mom will even show up to the wedding…

It’s the day of Erin’s mezcal party and there is a lot at stake.  Since Abe and Erin are the majority stake holders in their business, there’s a lot riding on this event. Once they arrive, Erin sits and chats with Sai and Ubah. They discuss Jessel’s party and Erin points out that things seem separate with the group. Erin explains that Brynn was “on one” when they went shopping and shares that Brynn seems mad about something. Sai thinks that if Brynn is mad at her, she should come talk to her face to face.

Brynn enters the party “with an open heart,” but claims to be scared of how things could go. Brynn finds Erin’s dad and begins her Brynn schtick.  She flirts with him in front of Erin and refers to herself as Erin’s step-mother. While Brynn schmoozes, Sai feels like Brynn is behaving exactly how people claim she does with sugar daddies.

Jessel enters and the first thing she blurts out is that something smells and blames Erin, which is hilarious and on brand for all accounts.  Brynn avoids the group, but hates the beef and doesn’t want to continue this way. Ubah doesn’t want to talk to Brynn, but she lets Jessel know that she is upset with her.  Because Jessel did not tell Ubah that Brynn was talking smack, Ubah is annoyed.

When Brynn approaches the group, it’s almost like the record stops.  Ubah jumps right in and shares that Brynn should talk to HER if she had a problem, rather than running her mouth to others.  Because Ubah got herself so worked up, she chugs the water pitcher and Jessel, in disgust, reminds Ubah to use a glass.  Ubah snaps back, calling Jessel a “basic b*tch.” This is clearly Ubah’s displaced anger at Jessel shining through.  When Jessel realizes that basic b*tch means she is a Karen, she gets so upset.

But she doesn’t stay upset for long because things within the group take a positive swing.  Sai is proceeding cautiously with her friendship with Brynn (“back to the circus we go”) and in a BIG cheesy move, the ladies all put their hands in as a sign of fresh beginnings.  That is if you don’t count Brynn immediately throwing shade (yet again) at Rebecca and Nordstrom Rack…

Abe and Erin claim to be making a “short” speech, which brings PTSD to the women who had to live through the speech at the last party.  On a lighter note, we realize that the man Erin noted for Never Have I Ever is closely linked to the mezcal line….and also happens to be their business partner.  Awkward.
