Robbie WIlliams' bitter neighbour war with Led Zeppelin icon Jimmy Page has cranked up again.

The former Take That singer, 50, kicked off the feud more than 10 years ago, when he infuriated rocker Jimmy when he applied to build an underground swimming pool and gym. The musicians own multi-million pound mansions near the Holland Park area of Kensington and Chelsea in London, and have been at each other’s throats over building issues for years.

Their row has escalated yet again as the Millennium hitmaker has applied to cut down a fungus-infected tree in the garden of his £17.5million London property. However, the rotting tree is on the opposite side of the garden to the boundary he shares with rocker Jimmy, 80, who has already opposed his previous plans to fell trees in his garden.

Robbie applied to the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in October to have the Norway maple tree felled, as he claimed it is infected with Honey fungus. The application obtained by MailOnline shows the form was filled on on the singer’s behalf by tree surgeon Michael Goatly of Putney Tree Specialists, who says there is “extensive decay at the base” of the tree, and it needed to be removed and replanted with a different species.

The tree surgeon also expressed concerns that the decaying tree could break or fall, which may cause extensive damage to surrounding properties. It is unclear if Jimmy has opposed Robbie’s request to cut down the tree in the garden of his Grade-II listed home, but there are fears the new application will trigger another feud between the pair.

In 2015, the Angels hitmaker was forced to abandon plans to renovate his property after Jimmy claimed the vibrations of building work would damage his Grade-I listed mansion, which is located next door to Robbie’s property. However, the singer was eventually granted permission to build the underground pool and gym, but he was forced to file a guarantee that noise from planned air conditioning units would not be over a certain volume. But Jimmy had the last laugh, as due to his vicious opposition to Robbie’s plans, it was ruled the builders could only use hand-held tools to excavate the basement.

Robbie has also been accused of “environmental vandalism” by other neighbours in the exclusive Kensington neighbourhood, after he revealed plans to cut back 14 trees and plants to let more light into his mansion. His garden is located in a heavily-protected conservation area, and his application to have the rotten Norway maple tree felled has already been opposed by a mystery neighbour.

“There is no explanation as to why this tree need be felled, only a series of photos showing parts of it are damaged. Should there not be a written report that accompanies each proposed felling and what courses of action could be done before the final resort of felling this tree?” the complaint read. A ruling on the application is due by 18 December.
