"I'm a fan of flat, stubby foundation brushes as they're versatile for all cream base products, including foundation, bronzer and blush," Hannah reveals.

Our pick:IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection Brush #7, currently £30.40 from LookFantastic (usual price £38)

A spoolie

"I would be quite lost without a spoolie brush – I use them for brows and lashes, as I believe a brushed brow significantly enhances your makeup look," Hannah shares.

Our pick:324 Brow and Lash Spoolie Brush, £12 from ZOEVA. Disposable spoolies are also available from Amazon for under £5.

A smaller fluffy brush

"Like the iconic MAC 217 brush," Hannah suggests, "which is a multi-tasker, whether it's eyeshadow, highlighter, or even blusher at a push."

Our pick:228 Crease Definer Brush, £14 from ZOEVA
