Sam Thompson has finally spoken publicly about his shock split from Zara McDermott.
The former Made In Chelsea star had called his ex his soulmate just weeks before they parted ways after five years. They had even built a property next door to his Sam's sister, Louise Thompson's home. However, Zara is said to have now moved out of the property as the pair aim to move on with their lives separately.
Speaking to best pal Pete Wicks on their Staying Relevant podcast, Sam admitted he has had a "tough" time since the news broke. As Pete asked Sam ''what's been going on?' in reference to his relationship, Sam confessed it has been "real tough month" trying to manage.
Sam said: "It was tough. It’s been a tough month. A real tough month."

Staying Relevant Podcast)His words were released after Zara shared her daily news on TikTok. In the clip, she can be seen waking up and getting ready to go to London to film for a new documentary. While Zara didn't disclose where she was currently living, one eagle-eyed fan wrote in the comments section: "House does not look like theirs. Someone is bound to say it so yes I said it, I hope they are both ok honestly".
While Zara appears to have moved out of the house, the star has brought the two ragdoll cats she shares with Sam with her; Albus and Cedric. In the footage, Zara is seen hugging into the pets, suggesting she has taken custody of them.
After news of their split, a source a told OK! that despite their best efforts to salvage their relationship, it just wasn't meant to be. They said: "Although they have known it's been over for a while, Sam and Zara are both devastated and heartbroken that they couldn't make it work as they had so much love for each other.
They added, "When they had problems in the summer they vowed to give it one more try and hoped that they could work through their issues, but it proved impossible as they were just at different stages in their lives."

Instagram)The duo are continuing their separate business ventures, with Zara busy shooting a BBC documentary and Sam hosting his podcast with Pete. By late 2024, time apart was noticeable as Sam jetted off to Australia for I'm a Celeb and Zara was tied up with her documentary work.
She also recently wrote on her Instagram wrote to touch on her athleisure clothing brand. She said: "Running a business can be difficult at times, but it's also the most rewarding thing. Being able to have the autonomy and control is an overwhelming feeling, and sometimes I worry that I might not get something right."
