Comedian Sarah Millican hit back at a cruel troll who made a vile comment about her.

The TV star responded to a social media user after they decided to poke fun at her fashion sense and dressing for "your body". She shared the troll's comments to her own account and added a response of her own. Sarah, 49, is in the middle of her Late Bloomer tour across the UK and in between shows, she issued a candid analysis of "what it's like to be a woman in the public eye."

The 8 Out Of 10 Cats star posted a photo of the troll's comments, which read: "I find you absolutely fabulous. Spot on. I'm laughing my teeth out! Just a little tip. In your older videos you have shorter hair. It suits you better. Gives you a neck. You would be even more pretty."

They added: "Leggings and short tunics may not be the most appropriate outfits for you. Good luck finding the right outfits for your body." Sarah fired back: "I don't care what you think I should wear or how you think I should have my hair. Just a little tip. Good luck finding your manners."

Many of her fans rushed to share their love for her calling out the nasty remark. One said: "This makes me sad. You wouldn’t come up to someone and say this in person so why is it in any way acceptable to say it online?" Another added: "How does anyone think this is ok to send to anyone else??"

Someone else commented: "‘Thank you for the excellent material you’ve given me for my next tour…’" A fourth wrote: "That's awful, Sarah. we still have a long way to go. It's not appropriate on any level. I'm sorry you received comments like that. You're a fantastic comic and an incredible woman."

Sarah first rose to prominence after winning the prestigious award for Best Newcomer at the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She quickly became a household name and has appeared on many panel shows and game shows including Mock The Week and Have I Got News For You?.

Away from screens, Sarah is happily married to fellow comedian Gary Delaney. The couple tied the knot in 2013 shortly after Christmas. Announcing the news of their wedding at the time, Sarah tweeted: "Thrilled to announce that @garydelaney and I got married last weekend. We are loved up and beaming. X."

The pair first started dating in 2006 when they met at Sarah's second-ever gig. Despite dating for seven years before getting married, the couple didn't live with each other until after they'd tied the knot. Speaking about their marriage on Alan Carr's chat show, Sarah said: “I moved out of my rented flat that I’d be in for six years and bought a house like an adult, it’s big stuff, we’ve been together for seven years.”

She joked: “I just got sick of taking the bins out." Before her marriage to Gary, Sarah married her first husband Andrew Millican. They wed in 1997 but in 2004 the marriage came to an abrupt end when he left her unexpectedly, and Sarah moved back in with her parents for two and a half years.
