Sean 'Diddy' Combs has reportedly shed a significant amount of weight while incarcerated.

The 55-year-old rapper is currently detained at the notoriously harsh Metropolitan Detention Center in New York City, where he is awaiting trial after being charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, transportation and engaging in prostitution. He continues to deny all allegations and has pleaded not guilty.

According to a journalist present at his recent court hearing, Combs appeared shockingly gaunt. Elizabeth Millner, a reporter for 'Law and Crime', told Page Six: "He appeared just astonishingly thinner, which you can expect (from him being) inside a federal detention centre for a couple of months now. "

She noted that his appearance was a far cry from the opulent lifestyle he once enjoyed. She added: "A lot different from the luxury lifestyle that he was living before, but he appeared very noticeably thinner and maybe being locked up in detention is starting to wear on him." Millner also remarked on the change in Combs' hair, observing: "He appeared greyer a little bit."

During the court appearance, no cameras were permitted inside. However, a source close to the Bad Boy Records mogul assured Page Six that Combs is "fit, healthy and fully focused on his defence", maintaining an active routine and good spirits, especially when visited by his children. It's also been reported that he continues to work out regularly. The Mirror have reached out to his reps for comment.

Combs has been refused bail three times while in federal custody. After a lengthy investigation by authorities, he was charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution – all of which he denies – and a trial date has been set for 5 May, 2025.

Combs was put on suicide watch during his first week in custody, but was removed from it shortly after, with his lawyer stating his client was "focused and very strong." His attorney Marc Agnifilo previously said that food is the "roughest part" of Combs’ imprisonment.

Diddy has been demanding a trial as early as the coming spring. In a filing to the US Department of Justice, Diddy's legal team requested investigators turn over evidence they have against him so they are able to 'review the material in advance of a spring trial date'. The document, which was seen by The Mirror, also stated that Diddy 'continues to assert his right to a speedy trial' and said he had requested an April or May 2025 trial date.
