Sister Wives’ Christine Brown Chooses to ‘Embrace’ Pain After Garrison Brown’s Death

3 weeks ago 7

Sister Wives star Christine Brown reflected on the passing of Janelle Brown and Kody Brown’s son Robert Garrison Brown, and she admitted how she’s dealing with the pain from his death.

“I’m just gonna have to embrace that pain, cause it’s never gonna go away,” Christine, 52, told Entertainment Tonight on Thursday, November 7. “It’s always gonna be there. There’s always gonna be a Garrison-sized hole. It’s hard.”

She added that Garrison’s death was “heartbreaking” and “the hardest thing ever.”

Christine then shared that she honors Garrison by keeping “photos of him everywhere” in her home.

Christine also gave an update about how Janelle, 55, was holding up during the interview. “It’s not even a good day and a bad day. It’s an OK day until you remember and then it gets really, really hard,” she said.

The mother of six explained that the Brown family has shared photos of Garrison to keep his memory alive, and they also planted a tree in his honor.

The interview concluded with Christine revealing how Sister Wives fans can both grieve and celebrate Garrison’s legacy. “If someone is struggling, don’t wait to call them,” she said. “And if someone is really having a hard time with alcoholism, with mental issues, call them. It’s not a text. Or you go visit them and you spend time with the people that you love.”

She explained that Garrison “would want” his legacy to be for others to help those in need.

Garrison was found dead in his Flagstaff, Arizona, home at the age of 25 in March. It was later confirmed that he died by suicide.

Shortly after news of Garrison’s death made headlines, Janelle and Kody, 55, confirmed their son’s passing in a joint statement. “Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown,” the former couple – who split in December 2022 – wrote at the time. “He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him. His loss will leave such a big hole in our lives that it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory.”

Janelle has paid several tributes to Garrison since his death, including a sweet social media post on September 25.

“My phone serves me up memories every day. Often they are pictures with Garrison,” the reality star wrote via Instagram alongside a screenshot of a May 2022 throwback photo that showed Garrison with brother Gabriel and sister Savanah.

Her caption continued, “On good days (and today is a good day!) they make [me] smile because I remember the event and that it was a fun day. There is always a bittersweet afterglow, but it’s still a good thing to see these time capsules.”

Meanwhile, Kody – who was estranged from Garrison at the time of his death – admitted he regrets not taking “advantage of the time” he had with his late son. “I want to go out to dinner again. I want to sit down. I want to have a beer,” he told People in a September interview. “I want [Garrison] to try and make me laugh because he was that way. The only regret is just, gosh, I would just do that more often.”
