Sophie pre-recorded the one-off special in London on Tuesday and was also joined by the gospel choir MDL Singers.

The Murder On The Dancefloor star dueted with fellow disco favourite Jessie before teaming up with Jake for two songs.

I’m told they sang Filthy/Gorgeous as well as Take Your Mama, for which they were accompanied on guitar by Emily Roberts from rock band The Last Dinner Party.

It comes ahead of the Scissor Sisters’ 2025 reunion tour that will see the band play arenas across the UK and Ireland to mark the 21st anniversary of their self-titled debut album.

When Sophie’s special was first announced, she said: “I always love a party, and I immediately think of sparkles, singing and dancing for a New Year’s Eve celebration.

“That’s what I’ll be bringing with me for my BBC One performance this New Year.”

The show, which will kick off at 11.30pm and continue after the midnight fireworks, has a different headliner each year.

The 2023 helping was fronted by Rick Astley, who was joined on stage by Sharleen Spiteri and Rylan Clark.

One thing’s for sure, I’ll be entering 2025 dancing if these guys do what they do best.

ROB HITS ROAD FOR OSCARS

ROBBIE WILLIAMS could be on course to win his first Oscar after being shortlisted in the Original Song and Visual Effects categories for next year’s awards.

Rob wrote a new track called Forbidden Road for his biopic Better Man, which is being released on Boxing Day.

It has made the 15-track selection, which Academy members will be able to vote for. Also there are songs including Beyond from Moana 2 and Mi Camino by Selena Gomez from her film Emilia Perez.

Irish band Kneecap have also been shortlisted in the Original Song and International Feature categories.

But Robbie still faces an uphill battle as the lists will be whittled down to five when the full nominations for the March 2 event are announced on January 17.

MEGHAN Trainor is ho ho hoping this festive outfit will get more use next year, because she wants to go on a Christmas tour.

The All About That Bass singer dressed as Mrs Claus, complete with fur trimmings, to play at the Jingle Ball radio roadshow in Washington on Tuesday, following the success of her recent headline tour in the States.

Now Meghan is feeling confident about hitting the road again, particularly given she released a festive collection called A Very Trainor Christmas in 2020.

She said on her Workin’ On Tour podcast: “Now that I’ve proven I can tour, my team is like, ‘We need a Christmas tour’. So definitely I’m going to have the cutest outfits and do a Christmas tour some year. Not this December, but soon, hopefully. That would be fun.”

MUSIC ON HOLD FOR ARIANA

ARIANA Grande has told fans they shouldn’t expect any more music or concerts soon, as she is focusing on other projects.

Speaking in LA following whispers she is about to announce a tour, the singer, below, who stars in new movie Wicked, said: “I feel so grateful to the acting.

“I think my fans know that music and being on stage will always be a part of my life. But I don’t see it coming anytime soon. I think the next few years, hopefully, we’ll be exploring different forms of art, and I think acting is feeling like home right now.

“I’m so grateful for the ways in which we’ve grown together over this whole journey with Wicked.

“But music will always be a part of my life.”

ALL RIHANNA wants for Christmas is . . .  an autograph from Mariah Carey.

The Work singer was in the crowd at the showbiz diva’s New York concert on Tuesday night and excitedly asked her to “sign my t**t” during a hilarious exchange mid-concert, which was caught on camera by fans.

After shouting: “I need a signature, who has a Sharpie?,” she pulled down her top so Mariah could sign away.

And while the All I Want For Christmas Is You singer – who is expected to reach No2 in tomorrow’s festive chart – did it, Rihanna said: “Mariah Carey is signing my t**t, y’all! This s**t is f***ing epic.”

JOEL TO PLAY CHRISTMAS CATCH-UP

JOEL CORRY has been out on the road for months and is leaving everything until the last minute when it comes to Christmas – even his return to the UK.

He will be landing back in Blighty on Christmas Eve, following a lengthy US tour, with all of his gifts arriving the same day.

The Head & Heart DJ said: “All my shopping is done online, Amazon, Next Day, Prime Delivery, like standard.”

But Joel is planning to make it up to his family, especially given he has not seen them all for ages.

He explained in an exclusive catch-up: “We’re looking at renting a little cottage in the Cotswolds for a couple of days.

“I want to make it really special for my mum because I’ve been away literally the whole year and not spent any time with her.

“Maybe we’ll get a chef to come and cook the Christmas dinner so my mum doesn’t have to do it – although my mum’s roast potatoes could not be beaten.

“She can still do those. Yeah. Mum, you do the potatoes. I’ll sort everything else.”

Good man.
