Giovanni Pernice promotes his show on Instagram

Giovanni Pernice announced his departure from  Strictly Come Dancing earlier this year after the BBC investigated allegations of "bullying behaviour" made against him.

However, he has now been cleared of these allegations, including the most significant claims made by his former dance partner, Amanda Abbington.

Fans are strongly advocating for his return to the dance competition, as it's clear that many want to see him back on the dance floor.

Giovanni shared a video on his Instagram this morning, which showed several female dancers rehearsing in a studio as he prepares to tour with his show The Last Dance.

The former Strictly star said: “I’m here in London today for a special reason because something very important is happening in this room."

'We are doing an audition for my show, the last dance. Now I know most of you have already booked tickets. So I can’t wait to see all of you there, but until then, I want to show you a sneak peek. See you in January," he added merrily.

In response, fans could not help but share their longing to see him back on their TV screens amid his noticeable absence from their Saturday night viewing.

One said: "You are missed, Gio. But what a teacher you are in Rome. Happy Christmas to you and your lovely family."

A second replied, "You're an amazing person, and I wish the BBC would consider bringing you back. You're so missed on our version."

Meanwhile, a third typed, "Hopefully, Strictly will bring you back next year as you've done nothing wrong." And a fourth added: "Can’t wait to see you in Glasgow! Would love to see you back on Strictly."

Meanwhile the BBC have revealed his future on Strictly after a BBC investigation upheld six out of 17 complaints against Giovanni, 34.

A source at the BBC said: “While it’s recognised Giovanni remains popular with a lot of Strictly viewers, there is a robust acceptance that he can’t return to the show, ever.

“His time on Strictly is over. There’s no way back for him.

"That’s not a formal punishment, that’s a decision taken at a corporate level, concerned with protecting the reputation of what is a huge Saturday night family show.”

The BBC changed their processes in light of the probe, including getting chaperones to monitor couples during rehearsals.

Italian Giovanni was asked by Christine Lampard in a recent ITV1 interview: “Will we see you back on Strictly?”.

He replied: “Never say never”, adding: “I’ve got a tour coming up in January, so I will definitely come back to the UK from January to July, and then, who knows?”
