The next Twilight? Shiver is officially getting a screen adaptation … and the cast is stacked with Young Hollywood stars. The romance fantasy book series by Maggie Stiefvater was a hit in the 2010s, and fans have been waiting for a movie adaptation for years.  Keep reading for everything we know:

Who Stars In ‘Shiver’?

Shiver will star Maddie Ziegler, Levi Miller, Sofia Wylie, Iman Vellani, Lyon Daniels, Alexander Ludwig, Ross Butler, Alicia Witt, Greg Kinnear and Christin Park. It’s unclear which stars will be playing which characters from the book as of yet.

ICYMI, Maddie has been making waves in the acting world over the past few years, with roles in films like The Fallout, West Side Story and My Old Ass. After rising to fame as a dancer on Dance Moms and gaining widespread recognition through her appearances in Sia‘s music videos, Maddie transitioned into acting at a young age. Now, she’s proving herself as a serious talent and an actress to watch.

“Acting gives me the creative freedom to jump into different things, but it also helps me protect my own being,” Maddie told Teen Vogue in March 2024. “It is scary to have people have such strong opinions on you and to feel like they know you. But there is something so beautiful about that too.”

What Is ‘Shiver’ About?

Shiver tells the story of Grace, a young woman forever changed by a childhood encounter with a pack of wolves. Among them was a wolf with striking yellow eyes who, instead of attacking her, saved her life, leaving an unexplainable connection between them. Years later, Grace meets Sam, a mysterious young man with the same unmistakable yellow eyes.

Drawn together by an undeniable bond, their romance unfolds amidst eerie disappearances, hidden secrets, and supernatural revelations about Sam’s ties to the wolves. But as winter deepens, Sam must battle to retain his humanity, knowing that failure could cost him not only himself but also the love he’s found with Grace.

When Will ‘Shiver’ Come Out?

It’s unclear when Shiver will be released — however, it appears filming has wrapped, according to IMDb. Fingers crossed for a release date soon!
