These Interviewers Had To Apologize After Stopping A Grammys Red Carpet Interview To Get Chappell Roan's Attention

The Grammys are tonight featuring big names in music from all generations. Like Babyface and Chappell Roan.

On the red carpet, AP interviewers Krysta Fauria and Leslie Ambriz were in the middle of an interview with Babyface when they spotted Chappell Roan behind him.

But instead of continuing, Krysta Fauria shifts her attention and calls Chappell's name (literally as Babyface is speaking, mind you).

Babyface noticed they were no longer paying attention and said, "You guys wanna take that? Go do that then." They then give a half-assed "sorry," and he hands the mic back to them.

They continue very excitedly (and unprofessionally) with Chappell Roan.

Of course, viewers noticed almost immediately just how much of a hot mess this was.

"What the actual fuck? This was mad rude and VERY unprofessional. And on black history month???"

"I want them fired and shamed before noon tomorrow. This was disrespectful and unprofessional."

"This is the journalism quality at AP??? Where's the journalistic tact when covering red carpets that not [sic] how you end an interview especially with a musical legend. This is literally what entertainment journalism has been left with. Smh."

The interviewers later returned with a formal apology, saying there was "a lot of commotion, as there is on these carpets."

Krysta follows up by saying, "I'm a big Babyface fan. As are we all. And I just wanted to say that I really apologize. But thank you so much for having me, you guys. It's been great."
