Update: Everything We Know about Monica Garcia’s Settlement With Heather Gay’s Beauty Lab

2 weeks ago 4

Monica Garcia was quite an addition during her time on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. She befriended Heather Gay and the rest of the women. But was secretly in charge of an online troll account that had been tormenting them for years. She even pretended never to have been in Meredith Marks’ store. Monica also got used to the finer things in life like visiting Beauty Lab + Laser. But the former Bravoleb is learning that no matter who you are, you must pay your bills in full.

Monica Garcia is the loser in the lawsuit

The former best friends and costars were entangled in the lawsuit for over a year. Real Housewives of Salt Lake City fans learned that Heather sued Monica for breach of contract and failing to pay for cosmetic injections at her med spa, Beauty Lab + Laser. In August of last year, the spa called Monica out for breach of contract and breach of the covenant of good faith and fair dealing. However, Monica countersued the med spa, claiming they delivered “botched” nose and lip injections. However, just this week, a Utah judge signed off on the proposed judgment by Beauty Lab, per The Sun.

The documents showed that the med spa filed the proposal on October 22, 2024, and was approved by the presiding judge on November 4th. Monica has now been ordered to pay Beauty Lab $35,853.60. The total includes “the principal amount that the company initially sued for in August 2023, $2,000, plus pre-judgment interest at 18 percent per year (from February 2020 until October 2024). The interest totals $1,683.62.” In another punch to the gun, Monica was also charged a $15 late fee, which totaled $604.98. She was also told she was to pay Beauty Lab’s attorney’s fee, which was $31,550.

Upon hearing the news of her loss, Monica took to her Instagram on Wednesday to share her opinion of the verdict. The former Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star noted that she was “in shock.” Monica shared that she had waited to react as the presidential election results were coming in. She told fans, “I didn’t feel it appropriate to comment on the situation yesterday, considering what was happening in our country. The things that actually matter. However, waking up this morning, I still don’t find it appropriate, but wow.”

Monica continued, “The fact that this lawsuit was even news on a day like yesterday says a lot. I’m in shock this morning. There is so much going on around us right now. There is so much happening in our country and world that it’s astounding to me that a lawsuit is even on anyone’s radar. But here we are.” Monica shared that her lawyers have been responding to outlets, but their answers have yet to be written. She added, “This was a shocking and bad decision. We have every intention of appealing and are confident in the outcome moving.”

Monica Garcia isn’t going to give up

The former Bravoleb went on to write, “I would say that I was surprised by the disgusting, hateful comments online rejoicing in my ‘downfall,’ but after seeing the decisions happening around us, I’m not surprised at all. Hate, discrimination, the desire to destroy, and glorify in people’s pain has absolutely taken over this nation.” Monica tried to remain positive as she shared she still feels “so grateful and blessed” because of her daughters.

Monica added, “There is so much in my life happening that I have to be thankful and that I’m so excited about. At the end of the day, being sued by someone is minuscule in the grand scheme of things.” She ended her post by writing, “Believe me when I say we have so much more to worry about. Hoping that all those around our country who are feeling fearful, devastated, shaken, anxious, or lost know that you are not alone.” It will certainly be interesting to see how Monica decides to pay off her debt. Beauty Lab “can collect post-judgment interest at the rate of 18 percent per year until the judgment is fully satisfied,” so Monica better get a move on.
