James Kennedy took to his Instagram Story on Monday night to share a series of posts with his fans and followers.
Weeks after the 32-year-old Vanderpump Rules alum was arrested for domestic violence, reportedly against his girlfriend, Ally Lewber, 28, he posted photos of several sobriety coins and key tags, as well as an image of himself and his dog, Hippie, as Ally focused on family while ringing in the New Year.
On January 6, James seemingly confirmed he was sober as he shared a photo of several 30-day key tags, a few coins, and a chip that read, “Keep coming back,” before adding his selfie with Hippie, who he previously shared with his ex-fiancée, Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, 30.
Meanwhile, on Ally’s Instagram Story, she shared a series of photos on January 1 after venturing to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, with her mom to watch Ohio State University’s Buckeyes defeat the University of Oregon’s Ducks 41 to 21.
“Happy New Year … Go bucks!” Ally captioned a photo of herself and her mom in Ohio State University sweatshirts, via Bravo’s The Daily Dish, also including a white heart emoji.
Although Ally is from Ohio, she didn’t go to the school. Instead, she graduated from Nashville’s Belmont University after studying entertainment industry studies and entertainment journalism.
Last month, after his arrest, and after Ally was seen moving her stuff out of their shared home, James released a statement, telling his fans and followers that he was planning to focus on his sobriety and growth.
“I am committed to making meaningful changes in my life. I am taking time to focus on my sobriety, personal growth, and being present for my loved ones. Navigating challenging moments is not easy, but I am determined to learn, grow, and move forward with the incredible support system around me,” he wrote on December 17.
Although James and Ally haven’t been seen together since she allegedly relocated to an Airbnb, an insider told Us Weekly weeks ago that he was determined to reconcile their relationship.
“James is trying to win everything back including [girlfriend] Ally [Lewber],” the source explained. “If he doesn’t stay sober, he knows he has a lot to lose.”
“[He’s] staying sober and getting treatment. He’s taking it [very] seriously,” they noted. “[But] Ally is staying away until he gets help and she is leaning on friends and family, … People are rallying around her. She has a lot of support.”
Vanderpump Rules will return for season 12 later this year with an all-new cast.
