Victoria Beckham has opened up to admit why she never smiles in pictures.

Former Posh Spice Victoria, 50, earned her fame and fortune when she shot to fame as part of the 90s girl group. But even during her time in the Spice Girls, Victoria earned a reputation for refusing to smile in photos.

After her stint in the band, she married longtime hubby and former footballer David Beckham, and the pair have been inseparable since. But even during some of their most joyous and happy moments, Victoria has avoid even a cheeky smirk to the camera.

Now, the fashionista has spoken candidly about her poses and admitted that she is often struck down with anxiety and self-consciousness about herself. This often results in her looking stoic so as not to stoke her insecurities about her skin.

Victoria admitted she had been suffering from acne as she shot to fame with the Spice Girls

Speaking to The Telegraph, Victoria said that she has always had issued with her "problematic skin", revealing she suffered heavily from acne during her teenage years. This problem carried into her 20s just as she was scouted to join the Spice Girls, but in a frank chat - she revealed her acne had long-lasting impacts on her self-esteem.

"Probably I did look stern in a lot of pictures, but I was so uncomfortable," the mum-of-four explained. "It was because of my skin that I became very careful about what I ate."

Victoria's physique had been heavily attributed to her strict workout regimes and restrictive dieting. However, she admitted that she also cut out certain foods so it would not cause her condition to flare up and trigger a wave of insecurity.

She has since "woken up" and admitted she does not care anymore about her skin conditions

Thankfully, the star has said that as she has gotten older, she feels more confident and able to step out onto a red carpet to give a smile. She even quipped how she is confident enough to show up to glitzy and glamorous events with a minimal splash of makeup.

"If you’d told me a few years ago I’d step on to a red carpet to pick up an award wearing only a bit of concealer and no foundation, I’d have thought you were mad," she joked. "But that’s what I did last week."

The star recently wowed photographers as she attended a lavish dinner with e-commerce fashion brand My Theresa in New York earlier this week. For the classy occasion, the former singer stepped out in a flowing white dress that she designed herself together with the brand as she made her way to the event.

It comes as she admitted in another interview that is not fussed about being famous, telling Harpers Bazarr magazine: "I suppose it used to be fun to go out and be chased by paparazzi walking down Bond Street – and you would dress knowing you were going to get that. I don't want that anymore.

"I've been doing this too long," she added. "I suppose I did when I was growing up but, nowadays, there's just too much going on; too busy; too many kids to worry about; I woke up at 50, and I gave a s*** less."
