Vogue Italia and Tim Burton Fail to do Monica Bellucci Justice for October 2024

1 month ago 3

Given the firm exception of the September issue celebrating the magazine’s monumental 60th anniversary, Vogue Italia has been a hard pass throughout 2024. Not even covers starring the next generation of models, Bella Hadid, Irina Shayk, Bad Bunny, and Karen Elson have managed to impress. Italian Vogue‘s Head of Editorial Content Francesca Ragazzi invites Monica Bellucci onto Vogue Italia for October 2024, who returns to the front cover following an appearance (alongside daughter Deva Cassel) in July 2021. To commemorate turning 60, the iconic Italian actress poses for partner Tim Burton. The pair took to the unique Sacred Bosco di Bomarzo in northern Lazio, Italy for the occasion. In the cover shot, Bellucci dons a custom Ferragamo creation and Cartier jewelry.

“Monica Bellucci: yasssss. This cover: no for me,” Chipmetrai commented the moment the cover struck.

“Love Monica Bellucci, but no,” echoed mepps.

“Take the cameras away from these directors,” exclaimed blueorchid.

Crmsm commented: “My takeaway from this is that Tim Burton is a great movie director and he should stick to it!”

Avonlea002 shared the same sentiments. “I was expecting something more than bland photography from a director whose films are so stylized. It’s a wasted opportunity,” they voiced.

“What a letdown,” sighed forum member phungnam96.

Vogue Italia made history by managing to make Monica Bellucci look bad,” Urban Stylin declared.

“I’m only able to echo everyone else’s sentiments regarding how much of a major letdown this is. A totally wasted opportunity indeed, and pales massively in stark comparison to Deva Cassel’s cover from Steven Meisel last month,” chimed in vogue28.
