James Kennedy is doing his best not to lose everything!
After the Vanderpump Rules star was arrested earlier this month for domestic violence, he is committed to doing whatever it takes to “win everything back,” an insider told Us Weekly on Thursday:
“James is trying to win everything back including [girlfriend] Ally [Lewber]. If he doesn’t stay sober, he knows he has a lot to lose.”
Cops were called to the couple’s home when a neighbor overheard a disturbance last week. James was then arrested for body-slamming his girlfriend to the floor. No charges have been filed yet, but she has moved out of their shared home.

In light of this, the DJ took to his Instagram Story earlier this week to make it very clear how he is trying to better himself after this legal trouble, sharing:
“I am committed to making meaningful changes in my life. I am taking time to focus on my sobriety, personal growth, and being present for my loved ones. Navigating challenging moments is not easy, but I am determined to learn, grow, and move forward with the incredible support system around me.”
James has struggled with addiction issues in the past, and it sounds like he may have gone off the wagon before this arrest. While nothing has been confirmed, it has been said he was acting “erratic” and “inebriated” at Kathy Hilton‘s holiday party hours before he was put in handcuffs.
According to Us‘ source, James is “staying sober and getting treatment,” they noted:
“He’s taking it [very] seriously.”
It’s unclear what kind of “treatment” he’s getting, but we’re glad to hear he’s putting in the work! As for his partner? Time will tell if they can continue with the romance, the source shared:
“Ally is staying away until he gets help and she is leaning on friends and family. People are rallying around her. She has a lot of support.”
Good!
In the past, Ally has claimed she would leave James if he started drinking again, so if that’s the case, it shows why he’s so eager to make a real change, especially considering DailyMail.com sources have claimed she’s considering giving him “one more chance” — but it would be “one final chance.” A lot is on the line for him. That said, James allegedly has a history of being violent with women and was investigated by Bravo, so… if that’s true, we hope Ally doesn’t rush back into something potentially toxic!
