Meghan Markle made a sensational return to Instagram to bring in 2025 after months of teasing her comeback.
The Duchess of Sussex posted her first upload to her new account on Wednesday as she sweetly wrote 2025 in the sand, marking her return to the spotlight. The former actress was seen in the clip without husband Prince Harry - for whom she initially left the platform - but it's thought he may be the person behind the camera.
The celebrity-style username of simply Meghan on the platform has over 100,000 followers, including the likes of Julia Fox, but notably isn't following any other accounts. However, before her latest account, Meghan had a popular lifestyle blog called The Tig. In it, she often spoke of her favourite things, and it was named after her favourite red wine, Tignanello.

The passion project transformed into a large community of like-minded people who read her thoughts on feminism, travel, the arts, design and wellness. She had even at one point blogged about the wedding of Princess Kate and Prince William.
However, by 2017 the blog was no more as Meghan committed her life to the prince. In a tear-jerking final post, which is the only one currently remaining on the site, titled "Farewell, Darling", Meghan said: "After close to three beautiful years on this adventure with you, it's time to say goodbye to The Tig.

You've made my days brighter and filled this experience with so much joy. Keep finding those Tig moments of discovery, keep laughing and taking risks, and keep being 'the change you wish to see in the world.' Above all, don't ever forget your worth - as I've told you time and time again: you, my sweet friend, you are enough."
It's thought she shut down the blog to avoid further scrutiny prior to her wedding to Harry in 2018. It was rumoured to be making a comeback, but as of yet is still shelved. Instead, Meghan has teased her American Riviera Orchard brand. Meghan also previously had a joint account with Prince Harry, where they detailed their royal work.
When they quit their royal roles, they stopped using the Duke and Duchess of Sussex account. Until now, Meghan had been without a social media account since then. Experts have predicted it could prove massively lucrative for Meghan to return and claimed she could earn up to $1million for sponsored posts and advertising campaigns.
