Woman Moves Into New Home, Discovers It Comes With a 'Surprise'

3 hours ago 5

A woman's first home came with a heartwarming surprise, in the shape of three kittens.

Hannah Mae (@hannamae.rn) had just moved into her new home when she discovered some kittens in an alleyway on her property. Sharing her find on social media, the post quickly gained attention, amassing 13,032 likes and 193,000 views.

"When you bought your first house and it came with a surprise," she wrote as the text overlay in her video.

"It was a good omen," she captioned the clip, as she mimicked 'meow' sounds to attract the kittens' attention.

In the video, three small kittens sit and gaze back at her. However, it's unclear what steps she took next to care for the stray animals.

What to Do If You Find Stray Cats

If you come across stray cats or kittens, experts recommend assessing the situation before intervening. According to Cats Protection, you should:

  • Observe from a distance: Determine whether the kittens are truly stray or if their mother is nearby. Mothers often leave kittens temporarily to find food.
  • Provide shelter and food: If the kittens appear abandoned or in danger, you can offer temporary shelter and food but avoid handling them excessively.
  • Contact local shelters or rescue groups: They can offer advice or assistance in rehoming or providing care for the kittens.
  • Avoid separating them too soon: If the kittens are very young, they need their mother for nourishment and social development.

The Cat Distribution System

Hannah's experience is a delightful example of the so-called "Cat Distribution System."

This theory suggests that cats mysteriously appear in places where they're needed most, often adopting humans rather than the other way around.
