Abby Lee Miller Claims ‘Sick’ Dance Moms Producer Made Her Push Fake Dog in Stroller After Pet’s Death

We’ve heard a million stories about all of the nonsense the girls on Dance Moms had to endure. What we hadn’t heard was just how much the producers messed with Abby Lee Miller too.

In a recent interview, Abby recalled an extremely bizarre story about when her dog died while filming the show. Abby said that after the dog passed away, a producer told her to put a fake dog in a stroller and push it around to film a scene. It really doesn’t get any weirder than this.

Abby Lee Miller on another Dance Moms nightmare

Abby shared the story about her dog during an in-depth interview with a YouTuber named Matt Steffanina. He grilled her about everything, from all of the fighting we saw on the show to the fact that we’ve never actually seen Abby dance. However, it was her story about one of the Dance Moms producers that really raised eyebrows.

Matt asked Abby about the biggest “sacrifice” of her career, and it turned into a rare emotional moment for Abby. She described how her dog died while they were filming the show in Florida. It happened in the middle of a dance competition, and she said she had to leave filming to go be with her pup. He wound up dying in her arms, but according to Abby, sympathy was nowhere to be found amongst the producers.

“The producer at the time made me put a fake dog, or roll up a blanket and pretend it was the dog, and I was pushing it after my dog passed away to film it,” Abby revealed.

Remembering the moment, Abby called the producer a “sick son of a bitch.” She might be right, but she didn’t say anything to him at the time. She was mourning her dog and said she didn’t have the energy to argue with the producer. So, she just went through with it.

“You don’t have any more fight left in you,” Abby shared. “There’s only so many soap boxes I could stand on and so many times I could fight.”

Years later, this experience still seems to haunt Abby. It’s no wonder she was bummed that she wasn’t invited to the Dance Moms reunion earlier this year. She had some horror stories to tell of her own.

The Dance Moms franchise can be streamed on Lifetime.
