A woman whose engagement was filmed on a beach was taken aback when she watched the clip back as a random passerby feature prominently.
Aurora Sørensen was proposed to by her now-fiance in Koh Lanta, Thailand, in November. She was visibly delighted when her partner got down on one knee as the orange sky made for the perfect backdrop.
However, in the recording of the romantic moment, a stranger is seen strolling in the background. She told Newsweek: "It was beautiful, and I saw it coming the entire day.
"The woman in the background was simply in her own world, no hate at all to her, even though people have assumed I posted the video to give her just that," Sørensen said. "Bless her; honestly, she did not in anyway ruin the moment. I was solely focused on him and didn't see her until I watched the videos back."
In the clip, which has received over 792,000 views (@auroras0fie) on TikTok since it was posted on January 18, we see the bride-to-be's partner getting on one knee and proposing, as an unsuspecting woman walks along the shoreline in the background.
Sørensen wrote in the text overlay of the video: "POV [point of view]: the main character of her own movie decides to pull a cameo."
Sørensen added in the caption of the video: "Like I know we don't own the beach but GURL, bless her."
She told Newsweek: "It was the second time she was in our frame, though; before that, she walked in while my fiance was taking pictures of me, then she saw what we were doing and almost walked around, but what I assume was an 'oh, s***, I'm in the way' moment, she quickly walked past in the frame."
Thailand is a popular destination for couples, with its scenic islands and coastline. In the first quarter of last year, Thailand welcomed over 9 million visitors from abroad, Statista reports.
The creator's video got hundreds of comments from people sharing their reactions.
Colleen O'Connell posted: "A woman interrupted my proposal to ask us directions to the parking lot."
Tami Sue wrote: "So what we should do as a society is assume everyone is filming at every second and try to stay out of their shots. Got it."
Bonny B commented: "I'm too busy looking at the ground for shells and little creatures, I probably wouldn't have even noticed you two."
