One of Good Morning Britain's legendary hosts admitted his daughter was hospitalised for "cheese poisoning".
Richard Madeley made the shocking confession about his daughter Chloe's medical incident while appearing on ITV programme Parent's Evening. Chatting with host Romesh Ranganathan, the former daytime stalwart admitted that he suffered serious reactions to the food.
Recalling the incident, Richard, 68, said that Chloe had gotten up early one Christmas morning, due to her excitement for the big day. After swapping presents and tucking into some good turkey dinner, the time came for desserts.

Chloe, aged either 17 or 18 at the time, proceeded to eat an inordinate amount of camembert cheese, a strong French cheese which is traditionally melted. However, while in the moment she loved eating the food, this would n turn into a nightmare, which caused her to enter into a state of "bacterial shock".
According to the NHS, bacterial shock - also known as septic shock - is a life-threatening condition when a patient's blood pressures reaches critically low levels. This is usually triggered by an infection, which can lead to sepsis - an infection of the blood, which requires immediate medical treatment.
In the episode, which aired on ITV on Saturday (November 9), Richard admitted: "Chloe actually ended up in A&E on Christmas morning because of cheese. She was about 17, 18, and she'd been out on the lash on Christmas Eve.
"We'd all gone to bed, but I could hear noises coming from the nearest bathroom through the night," he added. "I thought she's not very well, she's had too much to drink."
However, what Richard had not known at the time was that Chloe had gulped down two wheels worth of camembert from the fridge. "She's eaten two of them in one go and she's basically got cheese poisoning," he insisted, which shocked both Romesh, the audience and the other stars of the episode.
Chloe also confirmed that she was taken into hospital immediately for treatment, saying that it was a grave situation. She said in an interview with Birmingham Live that she had described as having "gone into bacterial shock" and had to get her stomach pumped as a result.
Thankfully, Chloe made a speedy recovery and was given the all-clear by doctors shortly afterwards. However, this has not been the only struggle Chloe has endured, as she recently opened up about the struggle her mum Judy Finnigan endured with postnatal depression.
She candidly explained it had not been diagnosed, but Judy suffered severely from the condition and the only way to help relieve her of the pain was to have a hysterectomy. Speaking on the Made by Mamas podcast, she added surgery did not go well and heavily impacted their relationship - particularly when she was a teenager.
"It was just kind of really weird and unfortunate for our relationship, that kind of event after event after event that really all got in the way of us really bonding," she admitted. "By the time I was a teenager, my relationship with my dad was so solidified and my relationship with my mum was just very murky and not really that solid."
