Grimes is speaking out about her struggles with ex-partner Elon Musk.
In a lengthy post recently shared to her X account, the artist shed details about her custody battle for the three children she shares with the 53-year-old Tesla CEO—X Æ A-Xii, 4, Exa Dark Sideræl, 3, and Techno Mechanicus, 2.
“Spent a year locked in battle in a state with terrible mothers rights having my instagram posts and modeling used as reasons I shouldn't have my kids and fighting and detaching from the love of my life as he becomes unrecognizable to me, with a fraction of his resources (or iq/ strategy experience), all the while I didn't see one of my babies for 5 months,” Grimes, 36, wrote.
“And this is only what can be said publicly, since most of my experience these last years should remain behind closed doors,” she added.
The former couple, who were first romantically involved in 2018, have been in a legal dispute over their children after Grimes filed a petition to establish parental rights last September. The case is playing out in courts in California and Texas, as seen in court documents reviewed by NBC News.
Musk has nine other children from past relationships, with his most recent child arriving in June.
Grimes’ mother, Sandy Garossino, publicly pleaded to Musk in July, accusing him of withholding the children’s passports, preventing them from visiting their sick great-grandmother.
