How Matt Gaetz's Cameo Compares to Other Republicans

2 hours ago 5

Former Florida Representative Matt Gaetz, the one-time hopeful for U.S. attorney general, is the latest famous Republican to join Cameo.

Cameo is a platform where fans can purchase personalized video messages and interactions from celebrities, influencers and public figures.

Gaetz joined the platform on November 22, the day after he withdrew his name from consideration as the next attorney general. Just one week prior, President-elect Donald Trump had nominated him to head the Justice Department under his new administration.

He is currently leading the charge with the highest base rate on Cameo. According to the platform, Gaetz is charging $500 for videos, more than any of his Republican counterparts.

He currently has a five-star rating on the platform. His bio reads, "I served in Congress. Trump nominated me to be US Attorney General (that didn't work out)."

Newsweek reached out to Gaetz via email for comment.

Example videos on Gaetz's profile see the former congressman wishing people a "Happy Thanksgiving" and offering congratulations on a new job opportunity. In one video, he tells someone, "I know you're bummed out I'm not going to be taking out the garbage at the Department of Justice. But you know what? They can stop one of us, but they can't stop all of us."
