Brad Pitt is reportedly eager to move on, but sources suggest Angelina Jolie may be standing in the way of his future plans. The ongoing divorce battle could be playing a key role in this delay.

Brad Pitt may be ready to move on with a new marriage - but Angelina Jolie could be blocking his plans, according to reports.

Jolie and Pitt started dating in 2005 and tied the knot in 2014. However, their relationship came to an end in 2017 following an alleged domestic incident on a private plane, despite Angelina filing for divorce in 2016 - a process that remains unresolved. According to sources, Pitt suspects that Jolie is deliberately delaying the finalisation of their divorce to hinder his chances of remarrying, alleging that she is using the situation as a strategy to maintain control over him.

The insider told MailOnline : “Brad does want to be married again but Angie is still standing in the way, and he just wants it to be over. She's been dragging this out for almost a decade. Now she is stalling on their divorce being finalised.”

The source also suggested that Brad's strained relationship with his children might be a significant factor in the actress's actions, speculating that she may be delaying the divorce until the twins reach 18 years of age.

Their bitter split led to a heated custody battle over their six children: Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16. Back in September, Brad went public with his new girlfriend Ines de Ramon, two years after they first started dating.

The actor and Ines cemented their relationship in style on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival. Brad, 60, and jewellery designer Ines, 34, stepped out hand-in-hand together at the glamorous festival in Italy. The pair were joined by the actor's close pal George Clooney, 63, and his wife Amal, 46.

Pitt's romance with Ines - who was previously married to the Vampire Diaries star Paul Wesley - is thought to be his first "proper" relationship since his split from his ex Jolie.

Jolie and Pitt aren't believed to be on amicable terms following their split and their divorce has been attributed to "irreconcilable differences".

Angelina was among the attendees at the Venice Film Festival, though was said to have jetted out of the festival in time to avoid an awkward reunion with her ex Brad. She has been promoting her latest film Maria, in which she plays the late opera singer Maria Callas, and it premiered at the festival on Thursday, days before his event.

Last year, it was reported that Brad had been dating Ines for a year and a source told People that she "makes him very happy". Months prior, a source had told the outlet that they had been "spending a lot of time together" over the summer and "truly" enjoy each other's company. It was added at the time that they were "very into each".
