With tensions in the village at an all-time high, iconic Emmerdale baddie Kim Tate could be about to bid farewell to the ITV soap, as Will looks set to exact his revenge
An Emmerdale legend has teased fans that this could be Kim Tate's final Christmas.
Tensions in the village are continuing to rise as the ITV soap heads into Christmas, with a number of storylines coming to a head over the next week. Among these plots being explored is Kim's reignited relationship with Will, played by actor Dean Andrews.
Fans have been desperate to know how things will go for the couple after Will caused his marriage to breakdown by having a steaming affair with ex Rose. Now, with Kim and Will restarting their passionate affair, actress Claire King has revealed that not everything will be as happy for the pair going into the holiday season.
It comes amid the arrival of the suave and sophisticated Peter, who immediately has thrown a spanner in the works for the pair. Being both Kim's solicitor and her ex, Peter is causing trouble for Will - despite initially working together to take Kim down.
But with Will and Kim set to renew their wedding vows on Christmas Day, the tensions between the couple are at an all-time high. Will is being talked into exposing Kim to everyone in the village during the ceremony, but can he bring himself to do it?
Speaking on ITV's This Morning on Wednesday (December 18), Claire spilled the beans on what could be in store for Kim. "It's been a little bit challenging with this storyline," she explained.
"It's been lovely because I love working with Dean, so that's been fantastic but it's been a little bit hard because of the subject matter and things, but I can't go into that!" Claire insisted. "I know, I'm desperate to tell you but I'll be shot."
She added that Peter's mysterious boss is pulling the strings from behind, all the while Will is trying to plot with Peter to bring his flame down. Claire joked that the storyline is "all very interwoven and complicated" - but fans will find out everything on Christmas Day.
However, Claire kept it coy as she quipped that this could be Kim's final Christmas in Emmerdale. It comes after Claire revealed that her time on the soap is nearing its end, due to her contract expiring in six months time.
"My contract runs out in June and if they decide to keep me on and I decide to accept, then I might be here longer," Claire confessed. "But at the moment, yes this is her last Christmas."
But with Christmas set to send Kim's life into turmoil, could she be hellbent on revenge? Having killed before, another village resident could be next on her hit list, but who might be spending their final Christmas caught up in Kim's drama?
Claire King has been a staple of the ITV soaps for decades, having first joined Emmerdale back in 1989, wreaking havoc as baddie Kim Tate for a decade, before leaving the village for pastures new. She had a stint on other soaps including Hollyoaks and Coronation Street, before returning to Emmerdale twenty years on from her final scenes and has continued to be a huge presence on the soap ever since.
