Soap fans have been left floored after finally realising a Coronation Street legend is married to a bad boy who tormented residents on the famous cobbles.
Leanne Battersby star Jane Danson has been on the show since 1997 since she rocked up with the rest of the Battersby clan, including sister Toyah, played by Georgia Taylor - the siblings she is now at war with after her world was turned upside down over a love triangle with fiancé Nick Tilsley.
She is no stranger to big storylines; from shock affairs and sex work to heartbreaking baby loss and drug abuse. However, Leanne’s had a seriously tough time in the past twelve months and he world fell apart when she was lured in by The Insitute - and it cost her so much.
Since then, Leanne’s been on a downward spiral, even attempting to set Toyah and Leanne up for fraud after discovering their affair. As well as that, she’s been struggling with loneliness, and this week becomes one of the main suspects in the Platt house fire on the famous street.

Daily Mirror)Away from the show, actress Jane has a much more settled life nad he is married to fellow soap star Robert Beck, LancsLive report. Robert has appeared in the likes of Brookside, Emmerdale and Waterloo Road. He even appeared in Jane’s own soap Coronation Street back in 2008, playing criminal Jimmy Dockerson. During his Emmerdale stint, he played baddie Damon 'Harry' Harris in 1999.
Jane and Robert met more than 25 years ago and tied the knot in 2005. The pair are also parents to Harry - born in July 2006 and Sam - born in in February 2009. In a chat with OK! Magazine three years ago, Jane revealed the secret to her marriage with Robert, commenting: "Me and my husband have been together for 22 years, and we're really good friends as well as loving each other lots."
She also previously shared: “Rob’s absolutely my best friend in the world. We’ve only had about two rows in 20 years. I’m not saying we don’t get on each other’s nerves sometimes, but we’re a strong team and we’ve always allowed each other to be individuals.”
Jane and Rob first met in May 1999, at the British Soap Awards. Recalling their first encounter Jane said: “I'm not the world's most confident person but I'd had a crush on Rob since I was 15, so I thought, I have to speak to him, it's fate.”
It's fair to say fans have been left floored after realising Jane is married to Rob. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, alongside a photo of Jane and Rob, one person wrote: “Jane Danson and her well-known actor on their wedding day.”
Sharing their shock, someone else chimed in: “No way! He’s a good actor wish he was in more and not always playing a baddie”. A third then wrote: “I remember him, didn’t know they were married.”
