Katie Price has confessed that she was the one who initiated contact with her current boyfriend, JJ Slater, after learning about his type 1 diabetes diagnosis. The former Married at First Sight star, whose real name is John Joe, had made his condition public earlier this year, which led Katie to reach out to him on Instagram.
This led to a coffee date and eventually a blossoming relationship. Interestingly, Katie revealed that JJ had tried to message her before, but his attempt went unnoticed.
However, once they finally met, they decided to take things "slowly" and have been together since February. In an interview with Woman's Own, Katie shared that she wasn't actively seeking love when she met JJ.
She said: "I'd read in the paper that he'd got diabetes. I thought, 'Wow, that's quite harsh,' as diabetes is a life-changing thing to have.

Katie also disclosed that JJ's initial message to her was a compliment about her looks. At the time of their first interaction, Katie had just ended things with ex-boyfriend Carl Wood and was feeling "mentally exhausted" by relationships.
Despite this, they decided to "take it slowly". This was a mutual decision as JJ, too, was not looking for love following his split from MAFS bride Ella Morgan.
Katie has been singing the praises of her beau JJ, describing him as "so calming and easy". She says the reality TV star has showed her "what a healthy relationship is".

Alamy/PA)And The mum-of-five hasn't yet ruled out JJ as "The One" but confesses she is in "no rush" to tie the knot. While Katie would "love" to get married again - the star has already been married three times - she says JJ is "old fashioned" and "hasn't even put a ring on my finger yet".
Katie, who first found fame as Jordan in The Sun's Page 3 at just 18, embarked on her first marriage with Peter Andre in September 2005. The couple, parents to Junior and Princess, went their separate ways in 2009.
Her second marriage was to cage fighter Alex Reid in 2010, which ended two years later. She then tied the knot with Kieran Hayler in 2013, with whom she shares Jett and Bunny, but the marriage concluded in 2019.
The OnlyFans celebrity also has her eldest son Harvey Price, whose father is former Premier League footballer Dwight Yorke.
