Hugh Grant has a voice that doesn’t piss me off. It’s soothing, calming, posh, and attractive, like his face, and yes, I know he has had some problematic moments over the years. However, I am just a girl, as is Luann de Lesseps, who keeps living my melatonin-infused nightly dreams. Not only are we both cabaret stars (my performances happen around 2:30 am, right as I hit that blessed REM stage), but also, as fate would have it, this Real Housewives of New York alum once heavily made out with my Mr. Love Actually, and now, I have many follow-up questions for the Countess.
Luann de Lesseps reveals how she snagged Hugh Grant one night in the Hamptons
Luann recently sat down with TooFab to promote her Cabaret tour, which features the fun game Mary, F*ck, Kill. I spoke to Luann about this new tour last year. In our chat, Luann hinted that she had some wild stories to share. Hugh (likely) agrees.
“A girlfriend of mine called me and was like, Hugh Grant is at Pierre’s [a restaurant in The Hamptons]. I said, ‘I’ll be right over,'” Lu explained to TooFab. The Countess then called and asked for the table next to his, with room for her entire visiting family.
When Luann arrived, she stressed, “‘Sit me right behind him.’ I pushed out [of] my chair real fast, bump[ing] into him — flirting 101 — and said, ‘Oh, I’m so sorry.’ He knows who I am because I know Andy [Cohen],” Lu quickly explained.
“I go, ‘I’m so sorry. Can I buy you a shot? I feel terrible.’ He goes, ‘Okay, but I’ll come have a shot with you if you do one with me,'” Luann continued.
“Before you know it, we are taking shots and making out … heavily at the table! My brother was like, ‘I can’t believe you’re making out with Hugh Grant,’ and I was like, ‘Neither can I,'” Luann laughed, making me realize that my life will never compare. Nevertheless, I am a girl’s girl, so to Luann, I salute.
