Married At First Sight fans have been left guessing when it comes to Nathan and Lacey's relationship status, but the news of their split has left them in shock.
The couple have been the strongest of the series of the E4 reality dating show, hitting it off from their wedding day. After an admittedly shaky start, when Nathan was seen saying "wow" after seeing Lacey's sister on their wedding day, mistaking it for his new bride, the couple went from strength to strength.
Their bond deepened over the couple of months they were in the experiment, and the pair delighted fans when the reunion episode aired last night, showing them still loved up. But it's emerged things have taken a swift nosedive, despite both Nathan and Lacey remaining tight-lipped about their status on social media.
Reports now claim that sadly, it wasn't to be, and Nathan and Lacey called it a day a few weeks after the reunion was filmed. Both of them posted on social media after last night's episode, marking the end of their MAFS journey, but fans were still dying to hear more, asking them for updates.
One fan wrote underneath Nathan's social media post: "The question is are you still together?!?" Another asked: "What happened?? When did the fairytale end?" A third ranted: "They're ignoring the question which is pretty annoying seeing as we've all committed to watching their relationship on TV every night."
Meanwhile, a source has claimed that the couple's bond "fizzled out" after they filmed the reunion. They told The Sun: "Nathan and Lacey really tried to make their relationship work in the real world but it just fizzled after a while. The final vows were filmed in February and they were still going strong in April when the reunion was shot, but since then they have called in quits. They were both sad it didn't work out, but sadly it wasn't meant to be."
The source added that fans were "really invested" in the couple, adding it's "such a shame" that the seemingly strong couple didn't make it.
Another strong couple who appeared to remain loved up at the reunion ceremony have also been revealed to have called it quits. Ross' split from his on-screen wife Sacha Jones was confirmed when he went Instagram-official with his new love interest just hours after it aired. Ross and Sacha were thought to be a solid pairing throughout the recent season but it seems the pressures of being on the show led to them drifting apart.
Sharing a video to his Instagram account, Ross was seen running along a beach with his new girlfriend as they jumped into each others arms and embraced, laughing and smiling. He captioned the post: "The moment I been waiting for…. The real deal. My world," adding the soundtrack of Billie Eilish's romantic hit Birds Of A Feather.
