Sean Combs is set to go on trial over allegations he was involved in sex trafficking, but as he left the courtroom, he made a gesture to his doting children sitting in the dock
P Diddy appeared to make a gesture towards his children in courtroom ahead of his trial.
The rapper, whose real name is Sean Combs, is currently being detained for his alleged role in a sex trafficking scandal that has stretched deep into Hollywood. A number of high profile stars have come out against the former musician as he is set to face charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, which he denies.
Sean, 55, remains locked up in the Metropolitan Detention Centre in the Brooklyn area of New York as he gears up for the high profile court case. As he prepares to take the stand against the federal charges, the details of the case were fleshed out in a pre-trial hearing.
The 90s rapping legend appeared in court at the hearing, which lasted roughly 90 minutes on Wednesday (December 18). The hearing was a mostly technical affair, as it was used to schedule future court dates and deadlines for when evidence can be submitted for examination.
According to ABC News, prosecutors gathered a large amount of evidence and had stacked it against Combs, who wished those who had gathered for the hearing "happy holidays" as he was escorted from the courtroom. He also said: "I just want to say goodbye," to his family before he was returned to his prison cell.
Two of the singer's children, Christian, 26, and Justin, 30, appeared in court and made a heartfelt gesture to their doting dad as they prayed in court. Sean replied to their loving gesture, by waving to his loved ones as the hearing took place.
Following their fleeting reunion, Christian and Justin appeared full of gloom as they made their way from the courthouse, according to the Daily Mail. Rapper Sean was reported to have looked much thinner than previously, with much more grey hair than he once had.
P Diddy was arrested by authorities on September 16 on counts of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. There are also allegations that the star had sexually assaulted minors, but no cases have been brought to the court by people aged under 18 at the time of their attack.
The music star is accused of allegedly abusing and threatening woman for years in order "to fulfil his sexual desires, protect his reputation and conceal his conduct" according to prosecutors. They claimed that the rapper has a track record of intimidation, threatening potential witnesses to his abuse with legal action if they broke cover.
