Tuesday evening saw Keely Hodgkinson crowned Sports Personality of the Year - and she made sure she dazzled for the occasion at the afterparty.

Earlier in the evening the 22-year-old Olympian beat the likes of darts sensation Luke Littler, 17, and Joe Root, who finished second and third respectively, to win the coveted award at the BBC Sport studios in Salford.

And she showed there was time for an outfit change before celebrating her win. Off went her revealing strapless black outfit, with sheer black sleeves and an open back. She changed into a dramatic white feathered gown before leaving the venue. She paired the look with black pointed-toe heels. The gown showcased her toned athletic physique.

Rising darts star Luke has took the world by storm with his impressive talent on the oche. He was spotted leaving the venue after bagging second spot. He looked dapper in a two-piece black suit and tie combination. So too did former cyclist Bradley Wiggins. The ex-sports star turned up in a suit jacket with a crisp white crew neck t-shirt underneath. He was spotted leaving the venue alongside Mark Cavendish in a lavish green car.

Keely had confessed her surprise at winning the award. As she was presented the gong by former winners Sir Chris Hoy and Mary Earps, the Olympian admitted she was in a "little bit of shock". She said: "'I'm actually more excited for my coach to be honest! This year has been absolutely incredible for me. I am so grateful to be in this position. I wish you all a wonderful evening, thank you so much!"

Her words came after she had admitted it would be "amazing" to win prior to the announcement. "You look at the names down the list, not just track and field, you have got Andy Murray, Lewis Hamilton, British icons,' she said.

'So it would be great to put my name up there as well, so fingers crossed.' She admitted a win will help to showcase "all the incredible athletes" in her sport.

Hodgkinson's success on the night marks the first time since the award's inception in 1954 that the main prize has been claimed by women on four successive occasions. It followed the victories by tennis ace Emma Raducanu in 2021, Lionesses footballer Beth Mead in 2022, and fellow football star Mary Earps in 2023y.

The first three women to claim the award - swimmer Anita Lonsbrough and athletics stars Dorothy Hyman and Mary Rand - did so in successive years between 1962 and 1964. Tuesday evening's result saw Hodgkinson become the 16th female in total to claim the prize.
