GB News presenter Isabel Webster shared a gut-wrenching admission before her surprise axe from her morning show with Eamonn Holmes.
After suddenly losing her post this week, Isabel previously said that she doesn't know if she'll be able to be there financially for her children.
When previously asked by Daily Mail about her finances in their This Is Money section, the 41-year-old broadcaster admitted that she buries her head in the sand when it comes to money issues.
Isabel, who lives in South-West London with husband Liam Pearce, 40, and their two children William, eight, and Poppy, six, said: "I've recently learnt there were times when my parents worried about paying my school fees.
"Both my brother and I were encouraged to go for scholarships as a result... Like most people, I started off not earning an awful lot of money in my early 20s.
"There were times when I worried I wouldn't be able to afford to buy a house," she continued. "But I was fortunate that my parents supported me financially.
"They helped me to buy my first flat. That meant I never really got to a place where I was struggling to make ends meet, thanks to their generosity.
"They didn't spoil me or my brother, but they helped us out whenever we would have struggled otherwise. I don't know if I'll be able to do the same for my kids."
Despite the confession that her children may not be as fortunate as she was thanks to her parents, she has admitted to splurging on herself.
"I like a new handbag," she said. "When I got my new job at GB News, I treated myself to the classic Louis Vuitton bucket bag. I think it cost about £1,000."
However, when asked what her financial priority is she said:What is your number one financial priority? “To give my kids the best launch in life like my parents did for me. We are already saving to help our kids through school and university.”
In light of this, Isabel’s future is on hold with her devastating career setback.
GB News announced that Isabel will no longer host the Breakfast show alongside Eamonn Holmes. Instead, Ellie Costello, 31, has been promoted to hosting the programme five days a week.
She has hosted the GB News Breakfast show with Eamonn, 65, since its launch in 2022. She previously worked for Sky News and the BBC.
A GB News spokesperson said on Wednesday: "Ellie Costello will now co-host GBN Breakfast five days a week, presenting alongside Eamonn Holmes on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and with Stephen Dixon on Thursday and Friday. Stephen and Anne Diamond will continue to co-present GB News Breakfast at Weekends."
The news comes amid a huge shake-up at the channel which has also seen Mark Dolan "relieved from his duties".
The Friday Night Live presenter tweeted on Wednesday evening: "STATEMENT. GB News have made the decision to permanently relieve me of my duties at the channel. I will speak publicly about this in due course."
Starting in 2025, Ellie Costello will step in to co-anchor GBN Breakfast five days a week, sharing the screen with Eamonn from Monday to Wednesday.
Breaking his silence, Eamonn avoided mentioning his co-star's shocking axe as he shared an emotional post about his mum on Instagram.
