Saltburn star Barry Keoghan shuts down rumours he used a prosthetic for THAT scene

2 weeks ago 4

Actor Barry Keoghan has shut down rumours that he used a body double or prosthetic in his nude Saltburn scene and said ‘it was all me’.

The Irish actor, who famously danced around naked at the end of the acclaimed film, admitted his ‘hesitation’ in doing the scene came from his dislike of dance, and not the nudity.

The 32-year-old said he ‘didn’t bat an eyelid’ when director Emerald Fennell, 39, told him her idea and said without sounding ‘cocky’ he thought it was a ‘beautiful’ ending.

The final scene of the film, released last year, follows Keoghan’s character around the Saltburn mansion, dancing completely naked to Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s 2001 hit Murder on the Dance Floor.

On The Louis Theroux Podcast, the Dunkirk actor was asked about rumours that he used a prosthetic, or had his penis enhanced.

In response, he said: “Nah, who said that, wow. Of course it was me. It was all me.”

He continued: “It was a thing that I didn’t really bat an eyelid to, you know, I would bat an eyelid if it didn’t fit the story.

“You know I remember me and Emerald having the chats and it started off with my clothes, and she’s like we just need to make it a bit more ownership. You know, he’s kind of got this mansion at the end, it’s his space.

“And when you have that space, we all do at home, we walk around naked, you know what I mean? Because we’re comfy in it and this is our environment. And so we’re just trying to get that across.”

The actor said the scene is ‘beautiful to look at’.

“I’m not only saying that... I sound like such a cocky feck,” he continued. “But you know, to watch the body of someone roam through rooms like that, it’s like a painting almost. My hesitation was the dancing, I don’t like dancing.”
